Craft system with so many things to craft, beat more levels to unlock more new things. Rogue-like, random map generation, turn-based RPG. Maybe there are more, since the new game doesn’t count how many new things they add in. The new one seems rebalance old classes, every classes have their own special passive skill, the tutorial part seems more friendly to new players, since there are more parts for how to craft things. And the new one also got iPhone X support BTW. update: so I took some screenshots. I should have read the game description a bit further up. Edit - Bought it. You now have boarders on the side if you have a 4:3 aspect ratio device, such as the iPad. No doubt due to it being optimised for iPhones including the X. Shame they didn’t make it more suitable for iPads as well but I guess the game was always designed to be played more on phones. Happy that the music is at least better. Graphics are not as pixelated as original. Tutorial is very good this time. Extra characters are welcome. Love the new auto attack option. I’m happy with the purchase though if you weren’t fond of the original this one wont change your mind. zenmode Well-Known Member Mar 18, 2014 54 16 8 #10 zenmode, Apr 26, 2020 I realize this is an old thread, but I’m not sure where else to post this. Has anyone else had a problem with the graphics being blurry? Compare a screenshot from my phone to the switch version, the iOS version seems noticeably blurrier and it’s pretty rough on my eyes. Both games clearly are based on the early Mystery Dungeon games and while I think this game has more meaningfully varied classes to choose from, compared to LotW, having to craft everything from scratch (first you need the right pieces of wood to make a shield, then you'll need to find enough of a given type of metal to coat it, and then you'll need to make the right potions to merge with a mana crystal if you want to give your shield an ability...) can get tedious. I will at least give the game credit for creating a fairly intuitive crafting system with every item being made by merging 2 elements that, for the most part are fairly intuitive. Compared to some far more advanced PC survival games that can have you crafting something with 5 components you couldn't have ever guessed if you hadn't already read in a FAQ how to make. stubbieoz likes this. zenmode Well-Known Member Mar 18, 2014 54 16 8 #13 zenmode, Apr 27, 2020 I just checked on my iPad, and it seems to be fine (Just as good as the switch version). I wonder if it was optimized for these newer iPhones but won't scale well back to older models? @zenmode If you have a recent iPhone and are seeing it, maybe your eyes are just a lot sharper than mine. Also, just to confirm, this is the Alchemic Dungeons DX, right? The original Alchemic Dungeons might still be in the Appstore and is significantly blurrier but shares nearly the same name and UI. zenmode Well-Known Member Mar 18, 2014 54 16 8 #16 zenmode, Apr 27, 2020 I’m using an 8+, so it does seem like it has to do with me being on an older device. IIRC, doesn’t the Plus-class of phones use a different resolution scaling method or something? I’ve also been able to check on my iPad, and it looks totally clear, so I’m thinking it’s specific to this device. I took some more screenshots, here’s a clearer example of Switch VS 8+ (The difference may not be as pronounced as actually seeing it in person though, zooming in should show it pretty well) To me, the switch picture looks 100% clear and totally fine, while the 8+ version almost looks like it has a thin layer of vaseline over the graphics or something. Is it just me? It’s pretty bad on the eyes when looking at the text, at least in my case. I think the easiest way to understand this is, with a big part of the iOS screens in this game being taken up by the UI, the display is a significantly zoomed in version of what could be displayed on the Switch, and thus comes off far more pixelated.
