This can lead to situations when board can't be solved by applying logic rules, so players must to guess which square to open. Look at screen-shot, bomb can be either in the bottom square as in the top one, it is 50\50 chance to win. This issue is not limited only to 50\50, it could be 30\30\40, etc. Guess-free boards have a 100% guarantee that they can be solved using pure logic (sometimes it can be very hard to find a solution, but it exists) This guarantee is achieved with help of Minesweeper GO internal solver, which, in guess-free mode, checks every board before showing it to the player.
