Disappointing. Just want to buy the tables like the normal Zen apps but there’s a crazy freemium currency and you win ‘parts’ of other tables etc. Wish it was back on Pinball Arcade Shimm5 and RedThumb like this. GordLacey Well-Known Member Nov 18, 2009 125 6 18 #3 GordLacey, Feb 1, 2019 You can "own" the tables, you just have to buy the Zen coins (using real money), to unlock them. Once unlocked you can play the table like any other Zen Pinball table. Unfortunately the cost to buy the tables is quite high. The tables themselves play better than anything FarSight released with Pinball Arcade. I’ll see how much each table is Can you just buy any table without trying to get the ‘parts’ then ? Edit / each table seems to need 250 coins. There’s an IAP for 9.99 for 350 coins Think I’ll pass if they’re that price Shimm5 likes this. Can someone explain please? LordGek Well-Known Member Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze Feb 19, 2009 12,282 141 63 Software QA Engineer Saratoga, CA, USA #8 LordGek, Feb 7, 2019 Sure, get ready for the PAIN! When you install the game you'll get to choose any 1 table as your sort of hub. You can play that 1 table unlimited for FREE, yeah! But to get access to any of the other 6 tables you'll need to navigate through a freemium triple currency Hellscape. Through play of your 1 game your "Mastery" level will rise and each time you gain a new level you'll get a tiny loot crate with limited use cosmetics and pieces of other tables. Besides just relying on the loot crates at level up you can also take on challenges for any tables you at least have earned basic access to for a chance at these same little loot crates if you successfully complete the challenge objectives. Even if a real trooper, playing your 1 table non-stop to level yourself and successfully completing each challenge it would take you WEEKS of grinding to even gain the most basic access to another table in the collection. You can, of course, bypass much of this grinding with CASH, but even then it can be tricky as they've made unlocking the tables a very weird mix of 3 currencies, so just trying to get basic access to all of the tables is tricky. There is 1 premium currency which you can bypass ALL of the nonsense and gain full access to all of the tables, but unless my math is off, it would cost you $45 to gain full access to all of the current tables and, as a final tip of the hat to scumminess, as you'd be buying these tables via the game's consumable currency, these purchases would not be restorable or transferable to any of your other linked devices. So if you spent the $45 bucks to get them all on your iPhone, you'll need to spend another $45 to get them on your new iPhone or iPad even if linked to the same Apple ID. psj2710, RedThumb and Igoo like this. Just checked and the other app directs you to the new separate Williams for iOS. So not available in their other game sadly. GordLacey Well-Known Member Nov 18, 2009 125 6 18 #18 GordLacey, Feb 7, 2019 This isn't correct. Your progress transfers through your Apple ID, so you can bounce between playing on your iPad and iPhone and it'll be the same on either place; same tables, tickets, Zen coins, everything. If you spend $45 to unlock the tables, it'll be for all your devices. My advice to you guys is to contact Zen and let them know what you think (constructive criticism is the best). This is a departure for them compared to Zen Pinball, so it's good for them to receive feedback on this shift in the way the game is structured. I do really, really like the game itself. I also like the daily challenges, I just want to be able to pay an actual amount of money to "own" the tables themselves. Ideally I'd like to own the tables, but also be able to play the daily challenges to earn coins to buy the flippers and ball trails and ball skins. I don't dislike those things, they just have no monetary value to me. Gamer1st1 New Member May 29, 2018 4 0 1 Male #19 Gamer1st1, Feb 7, 2019 Basically what I told them in my review. Love the engine, not the rest. Igoo Well-Known Member Dec 14, 2008 586 1 18 #20 Igoo, Feb 10, 2019 I take back what I said before. You can hate the monetization for this app, but the graphics and physics are so good I can’t even play TPA anymore. As of now, I would say this is the best recreation of pinball on the platform. And just I hope Zen reconsiders the way they charge for their fantastic work. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
