With a stitched-together artwork, the visual will remind you of the scenes from the movie Coraline. STORY OF SPIRIT ROOTS Long ago, on the outskirts of a small, but undoubtedly, very warlike star system, armed conflict raged for a hundred years among the system’s inhabitants. The fighting was so fierce that in the end only one small piece remained of each of the planets. At that point, the inhabitants of all of the planets decided that they would have to stop fighting in order to survive. So, they stitched together the remaining pieces of their worlds into one large planet with a single, absolute condition: no one could violate anyone else’s borders. But what happens when someone breaks this rule? Let’s find out! GAME FEATURES: - 5 worlds with completely different atmospheres, gameplay mechanics, and enemies - 50 levels - 3 Difficulty settings: Easy, Normal and Hard - 10 kinds of enemies and dozens of gameplay mechanics - Controller support - Cloud Game Saves AUDIO AND VISUAL DELIGHT: - A unique soundtrack designed for each world - Spellbinding artwork with picturesque parallax backgrounds and mystical silhouettes BOSS BATTLES: - Epic boss battles. Corn cannons wielded by farmer robots? Huge spiders? Flying skulls? Mud monsters We’ve packed it all into our game! Immerse yourself in a world populated by the many species of merciless flora and fauna found on the Stitched-Together Planet on the outskirts of the star system. As the description says...a traditional platformer that gives me what i expected. It comes with responsive controls, nice graphics but with no button customization (holy cow - this always should be a must-have), no problems though on my litte screen. Don‘t know how it translates to an ipad etc. I‘m 12 levels in and so far the difficulty is about even with „Oddmar“, imho, def more on the easier side. If you like the genre, i‘d say it‘s a „must-have-played-it“ in the end. Good luck Devs! There are some very nice animation touches, but nothing groundbreaking. I'm into platformers of all kinds, so this is my jam. I wish the buttons could be resized or repositioned since they are a little small on my iPhone 8 and I lost some lives because of their closeness to each other. BTW the game just got 2.5/5 on Pocket Gamer, the review says “Spirit Roots isn't sure what sort of game it wants to be, and it ends up spoiling the experience.” https://www.pocketgamer.com/articles/079869/spirit-roots-review/ Any thoughts about it? do you think what it says is true? anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 704 113 #13 anthony78, Feb 1, 2019 That review seems overly harsh. I haven’t played the whole thing but don’t agree with a lot of the points in that review like how it says the controls are off. Game is very polished and fun but will say it isn’t exactly the most original game and isn’t up to the (incredibly high) standards of Oddmar. But I don’t regret my purchase and would recommend it for platformer fans. We are glad that you recognize the game as a traditional platformer, which we are targeting exactly so. It might be a tad unforgiving, but we remember we had a lot more trouble completing the original Contra than Spirit Roots. We hope that you guys enjoy the game as the game progresses playplayfun Well-Known Member Sep 21, 2015 411 3 18 http://playplayfun.com/ #15 playplayfun, Feb 1, 2019 For those having issue with being stuck in the loading screen, please try the following: 1. Disable internet conection for the first launch. 2. Skip the trailer or anything after that. You will skip the trailer and right into the main menu. The reason that it is stuck on this loading screen is because that the game detects that story trailer scene download started and waits for it to complete. Hope this helps. Please let us know if this works ironsam80 Well-Known Member Dec 14, 2010 1,151 34 48 #16 ironsam80, Feb 1, 2019 Yes worked for me!!! For your record i am on iPad Pro 10.5 with the latest iOS.
