Edit: I think I may give it a try because of the production cast and a lot of my favorite VAs. The game is gorgeous. I'm not at all a fun of retro 16-bit styles and it's really nice for me to see a JRPG that feels like those games without having to still look like them. They made a very strange decision to make it a gacha-style character collector in a single player focused game. You get to pick one gacha party member, plus they give you one more. At least so far, if you want more party members, you gotta pay. And, once again, so far, the 4-star party members they give you totally blow the 3-star MC out of the water. So, we'll have to see what that means for balance (like, if I pay the 24 bucks to get a guaranteed 5*, will I have totally broken the game? Or is the game going to eventually get so hard that not having a 5* is a major deficiency?) RinoaHeartily Well-Known Member Dec 12, 2010 1,715 10 38 #4 RinoaHeartily, Jan 29, 2019 Yup very fun game. I can't stand the retards reviewing the game and giving it 1 star because they can't play the game? Can't they read the announcement??? This and langrisser both are top notched games L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #5 L.Lawliet, Jan 29, 2019 A very high quality game. The art is good, gameplay is simple and fun, story is interesting, and the music in particular is stellar. Music is made by a famous composer, the story is written by the Chrono Trigger writer, and they used famous VAs (though there's very little recorded dialogue). The side stories in this game are some of the best I've seen yet. There's an early one about a kid who hates games and it was well written. It also took a while to get through as well. I'm impressed with the detail of the side missions. I read up on this game and people do reroll for this game but I don't recommend it because it takes waaay too much time. I played for nearly 2+ hours and don't even have enough gems for a full gacha roll. If you get something you don't want it will suck to play through that much work again. I would still say my only disappointment is that it's a f2p and online only. I would have easily paid console money for this but now I may not spend at all. The company had a gacha scandal for this game so I'm a bit wary of spending money on it along with it being a complete gamble of what you will get. What do you think is the business model in this? I read from reddit people have completed the Japanese version with just the units given to them free? No pvp or MP I don't see why f2p player will even spend a dime on it. Character progression is completely linear and combat doesn’t have any interesting decisions: auto-attack one enemy at a time, then spam abilities on the boss. Will this change later in the game? RinoaHeartily Well-Known Member Dec 12, 2010 1,715 10 38 #15 RinoaHeartily, Feb 2, 2019 Lol olay longer and u will see.. Your main character Aldo can hit multiple enemies of you use his skill which costs mana. Trust me I am in chap 10 this game has more strategy then ALL the rpg u ever played before. It has modernized the way rpg is played today. Very suitable for mobile players Let me give u some hints There's no healing or mana potions. Characters don't have spells that debuff enemies or buff up companions In order to do all these u need to cleverly strategize how u "arrange" them which u will soon learn. jsenter likes this. There is almost zero value in reviewing a free to play game, especially an RPG that can take dozens of hours to even make a dent in. We wouldn't even make the money back that we'd have to pay the writer for the review. It makes much more sense to do a guide for a game like this, which is why we posted one a couple of weeks ago.
