Hi, everyone, I just published my first iOS Game and would love some comments/feedback. Promo codes posted in the promo codes and contests forum. (There is also a free Lite version of this app called “Space Station Racer Lite”) Space Station Racer is a unique racing game that uses realistic space flight physics. Race around 12 different race courses located on imaginary space stations from around the world, using nothing but your powerful thrusters to accelerate, turn, and brake. Features: - realistic (Newtonian) space flight physics - 12 different race courses on twelve fictitious space stations of the near future - 12 different liveries for your racer Your racer has three large thrusters in the back, which you can rotate in different directions to accelerate, turn, or brake. When you turn on your thrusters, you will keep accelerating without ever reaching a maximum speed, because there is neither friction nor air resistance in space. And when you turn the thruster back off, you will not slow down, but keep going at undiminished speed forever. You can also turn your racer freely through 360° without any effect on your flight path, which allows you to direct the thrust wherever needed to obtain the optimal racing line. All this makes Space Station Racer a truly unique racing experience, unlike other futuristic racing games that use race car-like physics with friction and traction. I practiced the first race a couple of times to get used to the controls and then tried to qualify. Qualified on first attempt. I know I can get my time better and the races will be a bit more difficult. I now just finished the first test Race on my first try. This game is about setting your best time. You race alone and against the clock. Once you get ahold of the control scheme and how to control your ship it is a very fun game. The physics are good and control feel is good. Your ship stays on one plane so you only have to deal with the free float space physics on one plane. If you like to race yourself and get better at it to beat your own times than this is a game you should try. You can see that the dev put some time into it. I will be playing this more very soon and hope to be able to add to this mini review. I can say now that you will get a fun timer racing game for the $ (currently on sale for $.99 at time of this review)as it seems to have a nice amount of races (tracks). The video that is posted really does show the gameplay. The game is more fun to play than what I think the video shows. For the dev, If anything, you may want to add boosts and slow down (or gravity) areas to add a little to the game. Keep the base game as one setting and add the other areas as a different difficulty. Maybe make a third difficulty level that puts the areas in randomly to change up the gameplay. This may bring in more buyers as some people may look for more to do in the game. I like the physics of the regular game but adding a little more may open up the game to a wider audience. PlayOnce likes this. I‘ll put a second series of mars stations with magnets, boosters etc. in the idea bucket for the next version. Right now I’ve got multiplayer (with collisions, of course) and AR in there. Maybe I could go: earth = serious, mars = goofy? Btw, I‘m working on series of Youtube videos that show how to fly gold rated lap times on all stations. It is very well made. Can’t wait to see what you able to do with it. The videos are a good idea too. Multiplayer would be the best for this game. Way better than my ideas, hopefully my ideas help you out a little, get some more sales for you. It is really a fun and well made game. Needs some exposure to get people to notice it. People just don’t seem to be willing to buy an unknown game with no ratings and no reviews, even for a dollar. btw., I made a new trailer. I tried to put some more fun and excitement in it, since you said the old one didn’t do the game justice. I swapped it out for the old one in my original post. sleb Well-Known Member Feb 7, 2010 385 3 18 Ohio #7 sleb, Dec 12, 2018 Now we just have to get people to see the game and get word of mouth going! I like the new video. NewZealand Active Member Jul 13, 2017 42 7 8 #8 NewZealand, Dec 13, 2018 This is really impressive, great game. I‘m actually a great fan of New Zealand, though I‘ve never been there. That‘s why I included a New Zealand station. I spent a lot of time researching a name for it that would be typically New Zealand, but everything English that I tried just sounded like it could be from anywhere. So I went with Maori. And I know the southern cross is very important to New Zealanders, so I decided to go with that. I hope I did well. NewZealand likes this. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
