(Pocketgamer.co.uk) "Slydris 2 is exactly the kind of game I’ve been waiting for and I’d recommend it to any puzzle fans" (AppUnwrapper.com) In 2012, Slydris took the mobile-gaming world by storm, launching to amazing critical and consumer reviews. It went on to win multiple awards, including GameTrailer.com's 2012 iOS Game of the Year award, and ranking as Modojo's #2 iOS Game of the Year, and is Radiangames' most-played game of all time. Slydris 2 takes the basic gameplay concept of Slydris--sliding blocks left and right and letting them drop into place to create full rows--and refines it into the ultimate line-clearing endless puzzle game designed specifically for a touch screen. Slydris 2's design brings more strategy and variety, and better balance to the Slydris formula. The relentlessly addictive gameplay is enhanced further with fantastic visual effects and earth-shaking sounds. Slydris 2 also features 5 beautiful color schemes to unlock, and 5 mesmerizing music tracks that synchronize with the play field visuals. The game is free with ads, but you can purchase the Ultimate mode, it removes all ads and unlocks all songs and colors, which just cost $3, I purchased it without any thinking, what a great arcade game! This game is awesome its the sequel to the excellent slydris. The sound track is awesome electronic techno goodness as is with most Radiangames. The level of polish is always top notch, the electronic music with the neon graphics that pop so well. So Slydris 2 its f2p unless you want to buy it with a in app purchase (2.99) to get rid of the auto ads which I recommend to support this awesome developer. You still will have optional ads to double your gems earned once a game completes. You use the gems to purchase new music or color options avail. Note if you buy the in app purchase it unlocks all colors and music tracks but not the ranks you buy ranks/Difficulty levels with the gems i believe the ranks are for the leaderboards and when game starts makes it more challenging for you. Right now im pro rank there is 5 different ranks or so each costing more and more. So the game takes Slydris and tosses it in Tetris land ! Yes folks we get some Tetris type blocks no more just squares and different length rectangles. The goal remains the same get a high score see how far you progress and rank on the gamecenter leader-boards. . If you have never played Slydris think Tetris only in the fact to clear the line you finish filling the line. The big difference this is a turn based puzzle game. Numerous blocks will be on top than blocks in the play field will randomize in the bottom play field when you start. You can move any block as long as its not blocked and you can move them from side to side only. As soon as you move a block at least a space from where it was it will trigger the blocks on top to fall down which will make you think before you move each time as blocks keep coming down each time you move. There is a combo system in place so when you clear a line it could combo clear the next lines in a chain. This happens when you clear a line the rectangles can break apart into a tiny square and fall down to the next line and etc. The game is easy to pick up but mastering it is going to take some time. There are power ups that will come up randomly and the challenge is figuring out the best way to use them to clear the most lines. If you like puzzle games give it a shot its super fun and being as a huge of a fan of Radiangames its a must. Oh if you didn't know the entire Catalog of all the awesome Radiangames, are free right now too so grab that up now just about every game made by Radian lives on my phone. Thought that was something to watch videos instead. Always been a big fan of Luke's games. I really enjoyed the original Slydris. This one seems trickier and less forgiving from the outset than the original, unless that's just my imagination. Not sure if it was balanced that way on purpose. Still enjoying it though! fiskadoro Well-Known Member Jan 1, 2009 326 17 18 Chicago, IL #9 fiskadoro, Nov 15, 2018 Also, should add, after buying the IAP, I selected "randomized" for both color and music track, but I don't think that works.... it still seems to stick with the previously selected color. Once again, if I'm doing something wrong here, forgive my ignorance. radiangames Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Sep 24, 2011 158 60 28 Game Developer United States http://radiangames.com #10 radiangames, Nov 15, 2018 Fiskadoro: It randomizes the colors whenever you pass a multiple of 2,000 points. Music will randomize when it a song ends (or it changes from the main menu track). I could also make the colors randomize when you go from main menu to the game (like the music). I don't really have a strong preference, but it's easy to do. fiskadoro Well-Known Member Jan 1, 2009 326 17 18 Chicago, IL #11 fiskadoro, Nov 15, 2018 Ah! I see.. I just assumed it meant that it would start the game with a different color each time. 2,000 points? Wow... I'm pretty sure I regularly achieved that on the first Slydris, but I don't think I'm even close yet to breaking 1,000 in Slydris 2! radiangames Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Sep 24, 2011 158 60 28 Game Developer United States http://radiangames.com #12 radiangames, Nov 15, 2018 Yeah, the game is harder than I realized for newer players. For 1.02, I made the difficulty ramp at the beginning of the game a lot smoother. Full list of changes (being submitted in ~15 minutes): * Added Share button for GIF replays and made it work with GIPHY * Smoothed out the difficulty curve at the beginning of the game * Put the Ultimate Mode IAP on the main menu (leaderboard is now a smaller button) so it's easier to find * Switched to a different method for rating the game that works more consistently * Fixed random songs playing regardless of having it activated (when starting a new game) Lull4by and anthony78 like this. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,125 703 113 #13 anthony78, Nov 15, 2018 Thanks for all your hard work! I went back to the original Slydris and realized that the scoring mechanism was very different. Do you think you'll include the other modes in Slydris 2 one day like the survival mode in the first one? Once again, thanks for all your hard work and for being so responsive. I haven't started working on 1.03 yet, but here's the list of expected/possible changes: * Extra reminder that you can move any block (when no other popups present, around 50 points) -- And again at 250+/500+ points when they still haven't moved other blocks * Reminder after ad that you can tap on the ad countdown to watch longer ads and skip the interruptions -- Keep showing it after every ad until they tap on the ad countdown * Show ad countdown button for 15 seconds after previous ad shows (so you don't have to go to the options menu) * More options: * Move more info to more options * Add button to let players start tutorial again * MAYBE: Help button to show list of special block types * MAYBE: Add button that toggles ad buttons in ultimate mode? * MABYE: Fast mode (less slowdown, faster acceleration of block falling)?
