Been playing every day since I got the first TestFlight build. It’s among the most fun and addictive iPhone games this year for me. First off, the gorgeous pixel art stands right out and grabbed my attention. Animations are fluid and the swipe controls work great when mastered. There are a bunch of different flashlights and lanterns Molli can buy, some requiring you to be at a particular experience level. All three types that I tried actually change up the way you have to approach your enemies, adding some variety to combat. Speaking of combat, Candies ‘N Curses uses a neat combo system that reminded me of Slayin’. Your combo continues as long as you keep attacking without taking damage and keep the meter from draining all the way. Simple but really fun. Each weapon can be equipped with charms you unlock that add a whole plethora of passive bonuses. While I still haven’t finished it, there are as far as I know 5 levels. I believe I got to the last boss Spoiler Jack once, but died before I could learn his pattern of attacks. It’s a free game with interstitials and IAP to buy the one rare currency (ectoplasm). Looks like there will be a promotional period where you can basically make it premium for $4.99 then it will change to $9.99 later on. I’d still pay that for all the fun I’ve already had with it, but even the ads weren’t too bad and the ectoplasm currency seemed to come at a reasonable pace. Top work from Takoboy Studios and Crescent Moon Games. We have a new update coming with some more fixes and improvements for iPhone X as well. ramzarules Well-Known Member Sep 13, 2014 2,112 128 63 Greece #6 ramzarules, Oct 25, 2018 it is a very well put together game. having said that, imo 1) the prices for new lanters are extremely high and need to be lowered 2) it would make more sense for the launch sale to be no ads/pet/doubler instead of the last unlockable lantern 3) whats more, it would take now 11 euros! to make it premium, with high ingame prices. Personally, if the ingame prices were reworked, i’d go for the 5,5 euro if it gave me no ads and doubler. just my 0,2 drunk_vader and L.Lawliet like this. It's fun, fast paced but not too fast, and great for passing the time here and there. The art is simply gorgeous and makes me what to keep playing. Might be my favorite CM game yet! Some notes: - The art is the game looks crisp but the text looks blurry for some reason. It just doesn't seem to mesh. - The top display is obscured on the iPhone X+ because of the notch - The later lanterns are priced nearly impossible without the 2x soul item. - I agree with Ramza about making the introductory offer to have a currency doubler instead of the final lamp. The ultimate weapon should be the "grind" item and this game generates currency too slow without a doubler so I think it's more convincing if you offered a combo with 2x souls. I think people would be more likely to jump on that instead imo. Thanks for the wonderful game! I'll be playing it a lot. I'm debating about the introductory offer currently. I probably would've bought it already if it had the 2x in it. ramzarules likes this. drunk_vader Active Member Feb 23, 2015 40 9 8 Barista Winnipeg, MB, Canada #8 drunk_vader, Oct 25, 2018 I completely agree, the price is way too steep for removing ads and getting an extra item, especially if you consider it in its full price and not the sale. psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,971 722 113 England #9 psj3809, Oct 25, 2018 Isnt the IAP just $5 ? (Us brits have to pay nearly double £5) These devs need to make money ! Just $5 for this game ? Come on people ! Not cool. Otherwise a brilliant game that I will tolerate incessant ads for, despite the expectation of paying for peace & quiet. It's like Slayin meets Platform Panic. JoshCM Well-Known Member Aug 11, 2009 4,250 23 38 Game Designer Upstate NY http://www.crescentmoongames.com #11 JoshCM, Oct 25, 2018 Sorry about the ad situation there - was it the ad for when you die and want to resume? Also with iPhone X, the update fixing those issues that should out right now. L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #12 L.Lawliet, Oct 25, 2018 No it's actually $5 for ad removal and $5 for currency doubler. So it's $10+ -------------- I think I like this game way more than Slayin. Having multiple platforms to go around raises the fun factor way more than Slayin's flat stage. Since the iPhone X+ had the menus moved down to compensate, the after-stage item selection descriptions are now all so low on the screen they're all cut off so now you don't know what any of the items do Btw are there any plans for iCloud support? I'm quite surprised there isn't any when I tried installing it on my other device. It also pushes down the ability to level up the charms. :/ BillyOceansBlues Well-Known Member Mar 1, 2013 188 7 18 #15 BillyOceansBlues, Oct 25, 2018 It's an in-game popup for the launch sale unlockable (no ads, the pup, and the lantern). Which I sadly would have purchased, since it's the same price as just turning off ads, but has more included. I didn't see that as an option available until after spending to turn off ads.
