At a time when "Retro" is considered to be PS1 era and "Classic" is considered to be SNES era, Loot Raider ushers in an era of "Vintage" gaming! Crafted in the style of a late 70s / early 80s 8-bit, small pixel-map sprites, single-screen platformer, Loot Raider takes you through multiple levels of girder running, ladder climbing, rope swinging, platform riding and teleporter transiting, escaping robotic sentries while collecting gold bars. The first 6 levels come free with the game, and currently an additional 24 levels are available as in-app purchases. Reminiscent of favorite games from popular 8-bit computers of the time, but with all-new gameplay and play mechanics. Multiple control schemes have been included to best suit each person's preferred style, and a forgiving control system prevents the frustration of difficult-to-play games often found on mobile devices. Every aspect of the game feels like the classics of the golden age of personal computing, from the classic high score screen to the vintage graphics to the sound effects. And for the most authentic feel, the game now works with game controllers. Has potential but the controls are pretty bad, i'm glad you can switch them to the left (or i would have deleted instantly) as 99.9% of games have controls on the left but the controls arent the best. The direction pad is way too big and way too high. Again does have potential but the controls ruin it for me Eric Crichlow New Member Aug 20, 2018 3 1 3 Male Software Architect Phoenix, AZ http://www.infusionsofgrandeur.com #3 Eric Crichlow, Oct 8, 2018 Thanks for the input. Very much appreciated and quite helpful. Interesting perspective as I consider the controls to be game's best feature. Good to get an opposing viewpoint. I tend to think touch controls are often too small (Lode Runner 1) or the schemes too awkward (Lode Runner). I'm curious about your statement that they are too high. They are placed relative to the bottom of the screen but above the stasis field buttons, which are also made fairly large to avoid the frustration of trying to tap them but missing. I'm certainly open to adding a new control scheme to the existing list. Where would you prefer the stasis field buttons to be placed relative to the control pad? Decided that your point was valid and implemented a D-pad style control scheme yesterday. Apple just approved the app update this morning. http://www.infusionsofgrandeur.com/resources/Screen-Shot-Horizontal-5.png touchette likes this. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
