What a nice find. Rpg with turn based combat. I hadn’t even heard of MazeQuest until now. The first game is totally free, no ads, no iaps, nothing. Me and my brother Chris spent the past 2 years developing the MazeQuest games. MQ2 was completely rebuilt with a different game engine to also run on PCs - hence the reason it's not much different than the first in terms of characters and quests - but I personally love both versions - they are different enough to warrant a download. Cant beat the price The combat, spells, items, and inventory system is very different in MQ2. We are about to put through a patch for the iOS version of MQ2 - my apologies to those on iPhone Xs - Apparently the screen is getting cropped badly in the current version. This next patch should fix that, and the following... We are looking for beta testers - especially people with iPhone X & iPads! If any of you notice other bugs or things to be addressed - or would like to get early release builds, reply to this thread or message me on FB through the MQ page! (http://fb.com/mazequestRPG) Enjoy! -Will MQ2 v1.2 -Your can now move through your own units in combat - so you wont get trapped by your own guys anymore! -Camera movement in battle is smoother -Added an option to stop the flipping of sprites - This is in the settings menu where you can change the sound volume etc. There is a button called "ANIM" and clicking on it will enable or disable the sprite flipping animation if you so desire. -Music sample rate increased. The artist, Christopher Getman said we had down-sampled the music a bit too much in our effort to shrink the filesize, so I upped the sample rate a bit and the music should sound a bit better. -Problem with using mobility books has been fixed. There was an issue where if you used a mobility skill book it would set your mobility to 1 instead of increasing it by 1. This has been fixed and you can now use these books when you find them for an increase of 1 mobility. -NPC's have been slowed down. Someone complained NPC's in towns were getting in the way too much so their AI has now been slowed down a lot and they move less and they move slower. -Changed reflexes to increase chance to dodge ranged attacks. Reflexes now increases your chance to dodge ranged attacks and no longer reduces your chance of taking a critical hit. -Defense just adds damage reduction. Defense no longer also adds to your chance to dodge ranged attacks. -Luck only gives you more chance of landing a critical hit and also reduces your chance of taking a critical hit. It no longer adds to spell resistance. -Critical hits only remove the armor from equipment and the armor from defense stays. I probably sound like a fan boy but this is a brilliant game. You can see the devs are really trying to make this game special. This is a game that deserves our support. Not a slither of a rotten iap to be seen. If you in anyway you like rpgs/turn based combat/tactical battles that don’t take over an hour to finish, you really should try this one. I have been playing for over 10 hours and I am only in the third map, though I tend to take my time playing these sort of games and I had to restart my game when the latest patch broke the saves I had. Ya if you race through the game, maybe you could finish in 12-15 hours. But there are a bunch of side quests that get you cool weapons and recruitable characters, but you don't have to do. Like, if you find a dragon's egg on level 3, there's a place in the castle on level 4 where you can place that egg and viola, you have a pet dragon! You have a few starting characters to choose from but they all play very differently. Knowing what enemies are ahead and what npc’s you can recruit makes the initial choice of character much more a strategic choice than you initally think.
