Quoad Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2015 1,108 217 63 #4 Quoad, Sep 2, 2018 I’m finding it far more confusing than reigns, after half an hour or so. Not sure why, but it all feels very abstract (more so than reigns) and I find it harder to puzzle out what will impact on whom, in what ways. I’m finding it all too easy to confuse my constituencies (my rocket / colony, my native planet, THE natives’ planet) and, whilst it’s possible to tap on the symbols to identify which is which, I’ve still screwed up on a couple of occasions. I have, however, unlocked my first new cards pack. Edit: there are also few interesting, political or subversive undercurrents atm. My colonists appear to be mostly happy to be whipped into line by their home planet. “Building a school” on the native / settled planet makes the native population joyful. Which isn’t really what I expected, and seems to be a bit of a “swallowing it whole” approach to colonialist / imperialist attitudes. Not much sign of Foucault here, or of any particular local will. It’s a bit colonisation by numbers, so far. And “yay for the colonisers.” Which, yeah. Maybe it becomes more complex. But second-guessing subversive natives or my political colonisers has not, so far, worked well. They’re all a bit thick, pliable, and happy. skoptic Well-Known Member Apr 3, 2015 634 82 28 #6 skoptic, Sep 2, 2018 Thanks for the feedback I did wonder how much was veneer of graphics and how much was good game engine. I get that. Yes = centre favour, local disfavour. Yeh? Yeh! Do the settlers want credit for metropolis goods? I’m guessing both settlers and the centre will go green w a yes. But centre is already up, so I’m gonna “no” it. Ok! That worked. The natives want a special funeral. Local planet and metropolis event? Guessing that’s a one up one down, let’s yes it. Yo! That totally worked. 3/3. We want to advertise to natives. Guessing that’s a win win? Oh. Ok. Natives hate it. Loads of metropole favour. And, er. I’ve gained energy? Great. That last bit - really! Token request for loyalty statement... Any downsides? Hmmm. Don’t wanna push the metropole too high. But indicators are this’ll affect everyone. I’m going yes. Expecting a triple boost. And, no, suddenly the natives are empire critical and rock bottom. And I’m being asked FOR A WALK BY A PRINCESS. Holy shit, that’s a bit derivative! Planet likes the yes. (Echoes of the people). Oh, and blah blah. She’s vanished. Anyway. Yeah. Is it bad? No. Is it confusing? A bit. Less so in these few turns than usual, tbf. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
