Will still play and hope that grinding a bit can help, otherwise I'm uninstalling. Also, forced ads are extremely annoying, and you have to spend at least $5 to disable them. Bloons with an adventure time skin. Last time I played one of the bloons game was 2 or 3 I think and I remember it feeling more of a tedious venture than fun. I like my td to be level based and "quick" like kingdom rush and this reminds me a lot of that with a slight gacha style upgrade system for your heroes. I waited all of 30 mins before I bought the first $5 pack that showed up with Finn stuff in it because of the fun I was having and because it did remove the ads and add to my main hero. Lucavious Active Member Mar 6, 2013 35 1 8 #10 Lucavious, Aug 30, 2018 Really fun game but holy shit the greed is over the top. Very disappointing coming from Ninja Kiwi. Ads between levels, ads to roll loot boxes, constantly begging for IAPs in every single menu from characters to gold to crafting. Every single screen aside from the main game is some kind of billboard for IAPs. Bloons is well worth whatever price you guys wanna put on the game and if you ask for $20 I'd pay it in a heartbeat. But this slimy nickle and diming turned me off after the first couple of hours. I've bought the $4.99 gem package since it promised to remove the ads and I'm still forced to watch them for loot boxes. Jesus Christ guys just send me a bill and let me enjoy your game. You tell players they won't be forced to see ads if they give you money and then continue to force ads. You think it's acceptable to miss out on an entire game feature in loot boxes just to avoid the ads? Look at your reviews for the game. The only people giving it poor ratings is for this exact issue. Take the feedback. hbernritter Well-Known Member Jul 15, 2010 950 33 28 Inventory/Marketing Manager Toledo, OH #14 hbernritter, Aug 31, 2018 I bought the $5 finn pack and haven't had a single forced ad yet. There are the optional ones that allow you to re-roll loot you draw or to double rewards here and there but there is not one forced ad. I think you have a bug or a misunderstanding of the word Lucavious Active Member Mar 6, 2013 35 1 8 #15 Lucavious, Aug 31, 2018 So question: after buying the $4.99 Finn pack, do you believe it would be reasonable to avoid ever rolling a loot box again or getting double rewards for a loot box? If you genuinely think it's reasonable to miss out on those features then I'll concede your point. But the game was designed with those features in mind and I don't find the ads any less "forced" just because you can gimp your progress to avoid them. hbernritter Well-Known Member Jul 15, 2010 950 33 28 Inventory/Marketing Manager Toledo, OH #16 hbernritter, Aug 31, 2018 Your taking optional and making it work for forced in this instance and while no I do not agree with the optional rerolls they are in no way forced. So I agree with your complaint about too many nickel and dimes especially when another cartoon network game by the name of teen titans go figure did the iap so perfectly but not with your definition of forced as that's not the proper term for this. Lucavious Active Member Mar 6, 2013 35 1 8 #17 Lucavious, Sep 1, 2018 I'm not forced to drive to work but to say I have the option of walking five miles is a little ridiculous. BlueTrin Well-Known Member Jun 21, 2012 376 51 28 #18 BlueTrin, Sep 2, 2018 I don’t think you can’t get very far in this game without buying IAPs. Personally I would prefer to buy the game even at £15 so I wouldn’t have to grind endlessly or buy more IAPs. Unfortunately I know I am the minority. Lucavious Active Member Mar 6, 2013 35 1 8 #19 Lucavious, Sep 2, 2018 I want to be fair in my criticism of this game. My partner and I have so far unlocked nine heroes each and are successfully completing extreme difficulty levels with some effort. The balance so far actually seems better than I initially suspected. All of it is heavily based on having good loot equipped to your heroes so it will be necessary to grind more than previous Bloons. At this point the only sticking points are the overly aggressive ads, being forced to watch ads even after paying to remove them, and the attempt to use every type of monetization possible at the same time. How to make this game much better: 1. Give users the option of a beginners package at the very start of the game that unlocks some currency, a couple loot boxes, and removes all ads from the game (including those for re-rolling and doubling rewards). A price of $10-15 would be more than fair and give users the experience they enjoy from Bloons. 2. Showcase the beginners package every time an ad is played so nobody is ever confused how to remove the obnoxious videos. 3. Give players a "to-do" screen that shows the best order to complete levels. Currently it's frustrating struggling with a level for an hour only to realize you didn't see an easier one you were supposed to do first for loot. 4. Give some tips about unlocking more loot whenever you lose and recommend a better level that rewards heroes or loot chests. This will help players realize the importance of proper progression and equipping loot. These would make this game a 5* easily and I imagine help it break the top 10 free games without hurting their revenue streams. Everybody wins. hbernritter Well-Known Member Jul 15, 2010 950 33 28 Inventory/Marketing Manager Toledo, OH #20 hbernritter, Sep 4, 2018 I have only done that finn pack and I am still having a tough time with the 3 skull char unlocks. Started going for Sai but no luck yet on his last level the 4 skull one. I agree with a lot of that list Lucavious, especially with 4, I think the levels should each give at start at 1 piece needed for leveling you chars and go up based on difficulty. As well as show what loot you would get by winning said level. I'm not sure 3 would work as well as it seems more like an open world with 3 star followed by 1 star, they could do it but they would have to rearrange the worlds in order by difficulty. We've had our piece about ads so I will let that die to move the forum forward. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
