I understand it's KING but I haven't been scooped up yet by the iap-train. I beat the whole 1st portion of the campaign (40 levels) This isn't competitive enough to make me feel like I need to spend money to get an upper hand on anything. I've been able to beat people in PvP with better characters because I am a human and not a robot Plus, the Jared Nelson article was such a great read and made me extremely jealous haha. What a great trip to be invited too! I'm only 10 levels in, but this is pretty fun! ArtNJ Well-Known Member Jul 13, 2009 3,212 29 48 New Jersey #4 ArtNJ, Aug 16, 2018 Last edited: Aug 16, 2018 This seems kind of fun with strategy really coming in once you figure out wtf is going on. There is definitely some WTH going on at first though...doesn't really look like anything is going on until they add features slowly and you get used to them. The game looks great, but there are some features that are dubious to me. With the caveat I'm only 2-3 hours in: One, no mouse over for enemy information. I literally thought some enemies in the first guild raid might be vases and wasn't sure WTF I was supposed to be doing. Not to mention they have different special powers that I have forgotten. Two, does the bonus attack at the end after the enemy is defeated actually do anything? Its one thing to watch the bonus scoring in candy crush, because you can compete on score if you want, and skip it if you don't. But a bonus attack that doesn't do anything at all? Three, for the first hour or so the upgrades were flowing pretty fast, then it seemed to drop off pretty hard. I've only failed one level once, and when I went back to redo a level to try and level up a dude I mistakenly went to the non-heroic which apparently didn't have what I need...and got 3 gold pieces and nothing else? Huh? Four, energy regen seems to get pretty slow after the level up bonuses get further apart and so far I haven't seen any free refill items and there is no option I've seen to get energy from ads. A lot of these games you can play quite a bit for free if you want -- this one looks like 2-3 play sessions a day. Maybe thats ok because the battles have more strategy? Was pretty disconcerting to have to take a break relatively quickly at such a low level. Well, anyway, these are mostly nits. Its definitely worth a try. skule123 Member Feb 28, 2010 5 0 1 #5 skule123, Aug 16, 2018 Yeah, I feel like the energy mechanic /cost is a little too aggressive and works a bit too well to keep me from actually playing the game. Piscinarii Well-Known Member Mar 20, 2010 97 0 6 #6 Piscinarii, Aug 16, 2018 The game is definitely fun and have really enjoyed the few hours I have played. The game definitely slows down as energy isn't quick to replenish and they have it behind a paywall. I only spent the 250 once for a energy refresh cause they gave it to me. The only other downside is it always annoys me to join a new game and come to find out it's already season 4 of the guild tournaments and everyone is max level. Lame AF. Its pretty normal that people in either category are allowed to keep their levels, especially limited release, but I agree its annoying. Is rerolling a thing here? Do you get a gacha pull at some point? ArtNJ Well-Known Member Jul 13, 2009 3,212 29 48 New Jersey #9 ArtNJ, Aug 17, 2018 Doesn't seem like that so far. You get tokens to unlock heroes, so beyond the fixed gimmes to start, looks like its going to be mostly time with a little luck mixed in. The missions do get challenging. Jerutix Well-Known Member Nov 3, 2009 1,754 65 48 Male Ministry Oklahoma https://www.discord.gg/kingrabbit #10 Jerutix, Aug 17, 2018 There is now a guild called TouchArcade. It's international and is tagged #AYKRG - whatever that means. ArtNJ Well-Known Member Jul 13, 2009 3,212 29 48 New Jersey #11 ArtNJ, Aug 17, 2018 Hmmm, tried level 45 almost 10 times. Thing is, there is no real way to progress other than waiting quite a bit for some guild bonuses or luck in the free chest -- or spending money. I'd keep trying if I was convinced it was a strategy problem, but every five levels there is a hard level that seems to require some luck, or in the case of 45, a lot of luck. How many bonuses does the TA guild have? The guild bonuses seem to matter -- I have 15 health now at level 6, and the second guild bonus is +2 health. Jerutix Well-Known Member Nov 3, 2009 1,754 65 48 Male Ministry Oklahoma https://www.discord.gg/kingrabbit #12 Jerutix, Aug 17, 2018 I started it moments before the post, so last I checked we were getting close to the first one. It filled up immediately, so I'll need to boot people if anyone wants a spot. I think I'm at 43, so I'll confer when I hit 45. Tychaeus Well-Known Member Sep 23, 2015 572 9 18 #13 Tychaeus, Aug 17, 2018 I was super disappointed to find energy refill calling for 250 diamonds =\ But, I did get 250 free diamonds quite early on so hopefully this means we will have opportunities to obtain free diamonds. It’s official though as far as I’m concerned...im IN...gonna be playin’ this one a while. Although it’s not exactly what I pine for as far as a spiritual successor to M&M: CoHs...it has definitely come a long way since soft launch and the new units are refreshing. I just noticed that 2x damage is not the maximum...they briefly go to infinite, which I assume is insta-win if you can shoot some damage through there. I managed to win by switching to my epic, even though he has a much lower power rating than the elf due to upgrades -- the epic's much higher strength and 2 turn "hold" meant much better blocking on the wolves. Don't trust the game's power ratings. Levanax Active Member Apr 2, 2013 25 2 3 #15 Levanax, Aug 17, 2018 When they switch to the grey infinite mode, they absorb all damage and nothing gets through. Yeah, the game really suffers from having no mouse overs with info on units. For example, there is no way to tell how much "hold" a unit has left afaik? A touch and hold for unit abilities would be nice, though. If there is no hourglass, they will attack this turn. ArtNJ Well-Known Member Jul 13, 2009 3,212 29 48 New Jersey #19 ArtNJ, Aug 17, 2018 Yeah but some units hold for more than one turn. Have to just learn that and remember I guess. Misguided Well-Known Member Jan 27, 2009 2,346 19 38 #20 Misguided, Aug 17, 2018 Are you playing on a phone? The hourglass is broken up into 3 sections.
