We may have done some of the UI/systems slightly differently if we hadn't used Skillz, but we feel there's a ton of potential to bring value to players - namely in that you can get a very full game experience without spending a dollar or waiting through rewarded video ads. I've enjoyed playing your original (Vista Golf) game and so was very disappointed when I experienced the PvP gameplay mechanic introduced in your new game. I may be in the minority when it comes to my feelings about Skillz; have never enjoyed it in other games that use it, so it will be interesting to see whether other TouchArcade commenters disagree with my views. shallotgames Well-Known Member Patreon Gold Jul 15, 2017 57 18 8 http://shallotgames.com #5 shallotgames, Aug 7, 2018 I enjoy Microgolf as well! Skillz was able to provide everything everything that we were looking for: monetization that was truly opt-in only, matchmaking to give fair matches, and lots of other fun elements like tournaments, leaderboards, streaming. They actually do offer a synchronous multiplayer solution (so you can see the shots of each player like in MM), which we're definitely interested in exploring, but one of the challenges with that is having a large enough concurrent player-base so you don't get stuck waiting for a match - have to find our footing here first! Thank you for giving it a try regardless, and for your input. Just can't get into your new game -- tried it again a few minutes ago and had the same negative experience as my initial attempt. I can't even figure out how to sign up for a match. shallotgames Well-Known Member Patreon Gold Jul 15, 2017 57 18 8 http://shallotgames.com #7 shallotgames, Aug 7, 2018 I might be able to help with that! Initial game launch, play through the tutorial (with the touch indicators for shoot/move camera/zoom), then hit play. You'll enter Skillz and see a loading bar at the bottom, this is giving you the chance to sign in if you have a Skillz account already, you can just wait this out and be given a temporary account. After that, you should get automatically placed in a match, after which you should be prompted to select and play another. How far have you gotten? Would love to help you and anyone else get unstuck. Grist Well-Known Member Nov 7, 2008 362 25 28 VP of Marketing Massachusetts #8 Grist, Aug 7, 2018 Thanks for your explanation, which has enabled me to get a bit deeper into the game...but now I dislike it even more, primarily because of the Skillz platform. If Skillz is the future of iOS gaming, I and perhaps many others will be very disappointed.
