Gamezaur Interactive has just launched a new puzzle game Perspecto. If you like original, intriguing puzzles and you have a 3d imagination, then this is a must have for you! In Perspecto, your goal is to arrange a 3d board into given 2d shape. The board consists of many smaller blocks that can be moved in any direction in several ways. You can rotate the entire board to change the perspective and shift individual blocks to get desired shape. It seems easy at first but gets challenging very quickly! The game uses a minimalist design and a peaceful atmospheric music to create a calm mood helping you focus add relax at the same time. Regardless of the move counter, is there a known "optimal" solution for each level (such as using the minimum number of moves)? Your goal is to solve a puzzle and you can take all the time in the world Regarding solutions - the game does not offer the hints. We had this feature implemented but we decided to remove it during beta testing. The temptation to peek the solution was very strong for many testers, and they often overused it even for levels within their reach. We decided that in the end it's better not to offer any hints for better game experience and user satisfaction. It was a hard choice but we discussed it thoroughly and we believe it's just better this way. Cheers! y2kmp3 Well-Known Member Jun 25, 2010 1,784 3 38 #4 y2kmp3, Jun 15, 2018 Thanks, Tomasz. Judging from the game mechanics, it seems ripe that the game would offer a move goal for the player to hit to solve each level in the minimum number of moves. Is this because some of the later levels are so complex that an optimal solution cannot simply be determined? nyanpass Well-Known Member Dec 30, 2017 3,374 1,043 113 #5 nyanpass, Jun 15, 2018 Great stuff! It is a unique puzzle game. If you are interested in this game, check out her video. Tomasz Wilczynski New Member Jun 9, 2018 3 0 1 Male #6 Tomasz Wilczynski, Jun 15, 2018 There are two issues here: 1) Finding the optimal solution (fewest number of moves) 2) Allowing user to view "close to optimal" solution recommended by authors #1 is a strictly mathematical problem. Perspecto introduces several "degrees of freedom", so implementing an algorithm for finding the most optimal solution is extremely challenging task. I would say it's much more complex than Rubik's cube algorithm and for sure more time-consuming than creating the game itself. #2 In most cases, user would not mind seeing "optimal enough" solution recommended by us. Obviously we have a solution for every level But like I said, it wasn't the type of experience we wanted to create. Think how much less fun "The Witness" would be if you could peek solution of any puzzle? Believe me, we had spent weeks discussing this before removing the tip system. Just think outside the box and you will find solutions easily Tom (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
