There seems to be only one in-run soundtrack and the animations feel kind of bland. I can’t put my finger on it, but the puzzle part doesn’t seem strategic enough. You just look out to minimize the damage sustained. MintCity Well-Known Member Jun 24, 2016 200 1 18 #4 MintCity, Jun 7, 2018 I was definitely intrigued when I saw this game. I love games where you can collect characters and battle with them while also being a premium, pay-up-front experience. However, I’m a bit disappointed. This has quite a bit of potential but the translation is poor, the animations/information displayed are rough, and the gameplay isn’t as strategic as you would think. I kind of foresaw these flaws just by looking at the game’s page on the App Store but I love taking risks for a chance that I find a hidden gem. Its not necessarily a bad game but I think that only certain gamers will be able to enjoy this game for the price that it asks for. This would definitely be worth $0.99 in its current state but I don’t suggest you make a purchase for its current asking price of $2.99 unless you can overlook the issues that I previously mentioned. After a few rounds, I’m not entirely sure what’s going on or if there’s much room for complexity. (Slam up. Slam down. Slam up. Slam down.) My characters also keep dying, which suggests a need to identify where I could improve. Idk tho. Not really looking too great over here. Gambler Well-Known Member Mar 10, 2014 546 110 43 Gazorpazorp #6 Gambler, Jun 12, 2018 Pity to read the rather disappointed sounding impressions. I‘m starving for good iOS premium games atm. Bought One Deck Dungeon after some consideration and luckily I’m really enjoying it (despite me not being the biggest fan of mobile board games) but always playing the same isn’t fun either - Alas, other than that not a lot of interesting stuff has been released especially the last few weeks (with maybe two exceptions that I had played through rather quickly though) and I feel as if the premium market is even less saturated lately than it has been 1 or 2 years ago - Have so many people switched to the Switch (no pun intended) or are we just in some kind of summer slump at the moment? Lanster27 Well-Known Member Apr 20, 2017 65 10 8 #7 Lanster27, Jun 19, 2018 Agree. This looks interesting but the gameplay sounds shallow. Sure there may be deeper strategies involved but the gameplay is still quite limited. It really seem like nothing worthwhile has come out of the premium market in the last couple of months, the best we can do now is wait for good ports from PC/console (Banner Saga 3 coming soon) or count on the mobile indie devs still left in the industry who havent stepped into the freemium market. PS. keep an eye out for 6th Age. vonknut Well-Known Member Dec 5, 2013 220 3 18 #8 vonknut, Jun 19, 2018 I actually really like it. The translation is not perfect, but is acceptable. Everything is nicely explained or easy to grasp. And the rules makes sense and inteoduced new mechanics nicely over time. Initially the strategy seems a bit hollow. With the sliding mechanics sometimes kinda locking you in a negative spiral. -but you can always retry the level. When you start progressing (im on area 3), the it becomes a big deal, who to level up, who to sacrifice, who tow review and who to ignore. Also you can use characters to permanent buf others during combat (which will carry over between battles). The order of soldiers are also very important. Especially the ones which activates an ability on spawn. So you dont want them in the starting lineup. -but want them to come in later. So there is a lot of ‘meta’ around the core gameplay (the sliding battles). Im not normally into games like these, but I really like this on. andreadeda Well-Known Member Mar 6, 2013 174 43 28 #9 andreadeda, Jun 27, 2018 I like it as well, wasn't impressed initially but it's growing on me; only got to level 3 once but i'm starting to understand the strategy aspect better.
