Can anyone comment if there have been any additional improvements to the port or is this the same port that was already released previously? Update, watched the AppStore videos and there appears to be a change in art style. They have essentially blurred out all the beautiful pixels of the original to try and create an HD feel for the game, but all I can think of is "I hope to gawd they have an option to turn off the smudgy filter"! Really hope there is an option to default to original art and that the interface is better tuned for mobile this time around! Otherwise, this game is one of the all time great adventures and I may take the plunge despite my massive multi-platform backlog issue just to find out # nkarafo Well-Known Member Mar 2, 2011 864 14 18 #6 nkarafo, Apr 5, 2018 The old one was a fantastic game but this .. is weird. They have added a filter and it looks worse than the original. This is not an HD remake but a downgrade! Can anyone confirm if you can disable this filter? Also different music options from the original upto Newley recorded stuff. The new touch controls are really good too as its been tweaked so the hit zones are slightly bigger for tapping on things. Ive played this on multiple formats since it was first released and this version is the same game as always. Unless your a big fan like myself and own it already theres probably not any reason to pick it up again but for me Id say its worth the £4 to play it through again with new controls/graphics and sound options. Adding a filter like this is not "HD" by any means and in this case looks to be almost unplayably blurry. I am relieved; however, that it has an option for the original controls and pixels. Also, I am concerned that if I buy this it may not long be on the AppStore as I wouldn't want to buy this again, just to have it pulled or lose support before I get to play it all the way through. What kind of commitment to support is there for this? The high graphics option looks pretty nice. Its good that you have the option of both tho. I AM a huge fan of Simon the Sorcerer and I can see that this dev says they have the license so at least it appears to be more a labor of love than anything shady and it's nice to have it on the AppStore again! I really want to hope that this version from a small dev has a long life span... on the fence, may make the plunge again. Nice that it bundles with part 2 for a buck off, thinking I'll go that route if I decide to go for it.
