How can I NOT wanna try this?! Im in! slashyblob Member Dec 13, 2017 10 0 0 #5 slashyblob, Mar 29, 2018 Hi bbegirl, it works in two ways. 1. If you have a guitar, just grab it and play without any cables. The game use device microphone to recognise the guitar sound. 2. If not, you can use the virtual on-screen guitar in the game, tap the note and swipe to play the beautiful chords. slashyblob Member Dec 13, 2017 10 0 0 #6 slashyblob, Mar 29, 2018 Hi bigrand1, we can't wait to hear you feedback toofinedog Well-Known Member Oct 18, 2013 65 0 6 #7 toofinedog, Mar 29, 2018 Playing with the on-screen fretboard is slow but not impossible. I got to the first boss then got overwhelmed by its spawns. Im definitely trying again with a guitar when I get home. I really like the Typing of the Dead vibe. Looking at the equipment menu, it seems the chords will get more varied and complex as the game progresses which is a good thing. This game should make for a good teaching tool as well. Is it on Google Play too? If so, I will recommend it to my brother who is learning guitar. slashyblob Member Dec 13, 2017 10 0 0 #8 slashyblob, Mar 29, 2018 Hi toofinedog, glad to hear that you like the game! One of our inspiration come from Typing of the Dead. For Google Play version, we are developing but don't have a exact launch date yet. Please also let us know you thoughts when you play with your guitar toofinedog Well-Known Member Oct 18, 2013 65 0 6 #9 toofinedog, Mar 30, 2018 I gave the game a try with an older, cheap guitar I have. Upon startup, the game prompted me to play a Dm, recognized my guitar was out of tune, and directed me to the in-game tuner which was a nice touch. I got tuned up and played up to second checkpoint. Not only was the gameplay more natural, but I also enjoyed it a lot more than the on-screen controls. I am looking forward to gameplay getting more frenzied which does lead me to a possible issue. Depending on the position of my guitamurai, he attacks the closest chord-matching monster. Sometimes, the monster closest to my guy is not the one closest to a crystal. When the pick plates are introduced, I got the feeling these would be my only way to move around to re-target, but I was wondering if there is a feature that can let me quickly change targets when or before playing a chord. I did try tapping a different monster on screen, but that didnt work. Am I missing something, or should I just strum faster? Anyway, I like it. If I use the app to tune up, Ill at least try to pass another checkpoint. Ill try it with my better acoustic and my electric during other sessions. bbegirl Member Feb 7, 2012 14 0 0 #10 bbegirl, Mar 30, 2018 That is so cool! I just tried it on my guitar was not expecting that! Love the visuals too will play some more and share thoughts! slashyblob Member Dec 13, 2017 10 0 0 #11 slashyblob, Mar 30, 2018 Hi toofinedog, thanks again for your valuable feedback. For enemy targeting, we did consider to let player to tap on the monster to target it. But we thought this may distract the player from strumming the guitar and so we haven't put this feature into the game. Maybe we should reconsider it now. On the other hand, we would like to know did you try the note block (a block on the ground)? This is what we designed for moving around in the arena. Cant wait to hear more from you slashyblob Member Dec 13, 2017 10 0 0 #12 slashyblob, Mar 30, 2018 Thanks bbegirl! We'd love to hear your thoughts TDA Active Member Feb 28, 2013 38 0 0 #13 TDA, Mar 30, 2018 Would this work with a ukulele? toofinedog Well-Known Member Oct 18, 2013 65 0 6 #14 toofinedog, Mar 30, 2018 Yes, I referred to the note block as a pick plate in my previous response because I tend to just rename things when I forget what theyre called. I figured those are for maneuvering, but the description of them in-game gave me the impression you slash at enemies as you move between them. I never had an enemy pass between the hero and a block, so I only used them for the sake of trying it out. Re-targeting isnt a huge issue. I think I got hit in only one round because of that. To answer the uke question from someone, probably. Im not familiar with uke chords. Im sure if they use the same notes as the guitar chord, it will work since the game works on tone recognition rather than the specific note (e.g. You dont need to play the open A string to select the A string after-round prize. Any A works). I have yet to try barre chords in place of the basic ones. slashyblob Member Dec 13, 2017 10 0 0 #15 slashyblob, Mar 31, 2018 Hi TDA, we tested with ukulele and some chords may not work. We will soon release an update with fine tuning the recognition for ukulele. TDA Active Member Feb 28, 2013 38 0 0 #16 TDA, Mar 31, 2018 Really? That’s awesome, thanks!
