I preregistered and all that but I'm not actually sure if I want to play it. Bamco is notorious in the mobage world for bad practices and terrible gachas. However they still get the money because Bamco owns a lot of the biggest names and they're the only ones producing those games. I'm still playing SAO Memory Defrag mainly because I've spent too much time and money into that game. The game is heavily pvp, rank, and gacha focused. Powercreep is also a huge factor in MD. If I knew beforehand all these "features" I wouldn't have started but now I'm in too deep. I'm expecting this game to be no different unfortunately. nyanpass Well-Known Member Dec 30, 2017 3,374 1,043 113 #5 nyanpass, Mar 27, 2018 Last edited: Mar 27, 2018 Ah, I like SAO Memory Defrag too! I only finished it in story mode. SAO Memory Defrag Story-mode alone is a rich experience, and it gives me memories. I was able to feel the precious impressions that I felt after the SAO anime broadcast again with different feeling through the SAO MD game. If the new series game released this time has a story mode, I guess I will play this game on the way of enjoying the story. P.S The attached screenshot is about the SAO MD. It looks that way on my iPhone. However, this game seems to be sending and receiving Internet data from time to time. Therefore, the game data may be larger. chinito77 Member Oct 5, 2010 14 4 3 #10 chinito77, Mar 27, 2018 Worse than the first game SAO Memory Defrag had great sprite work and colorful visuals with fun gameplay mechanics. This game however, looks like total crap on my iPad Pro. It is SO blurry looking that I get eye strain after about 5 mins. The colors look so washed out. I can't seem to improve anything in the settings menu. Despite all this, this game is nothing but a poor remake of Memory Defrag. Same story, same characters, same concept of collecting gems and coins to purchase items and having a blacksmith upgrade them. The only changes are that this time your are a new character that plays part of the story and the obvious fact that you run around in 3D. Not even the gatcha aspect seems interesting. Lame skills for a lame game. I beg you all not to spend money on this! nyanpass Well-Known Member Dec 30, 2017 3,374 1,043 113 #11 nyanpass, Mar 27, 2018 Oh, I agree. This newly released game is a bit worse than the previous series game(SAO MD). I think I will enjoy less than SAO MD, but I want to taste this new game once. This game is still in the early stages. L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #12 L.Lawliet, Mar 27, 2018 Good to know I'm not missing too much if I pass on this. The only thing that really makes me want to play is the character art, which it seems that the original SAO artist drew. In SAO MD it seems like there's only 1 artist and he just draws in simple anime style for every character art in the game. squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,716 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #13 squarezero, Mar 27, 2018 To each his own, but I’m enjoying this a lot more than Memory Defrag. I found the game loop on that one very repetitive, and the 2D visuals, though well done, gave me no sense of place — which is a big part of what I enjoyed in the anime. This one feels like a real MMO. Jean pierre Well-Known Member Mar 24, 2017 320 2 18 #14 Jean pierre, Mar 27, 2018 I will never buy any product from Bandai Namco again. Admittedly, i’ve only played the game for an hour or two so far, but it looks and plays great. Certainly one of the better real-time RPG’s on the App Store. There are lots of nice little touches, like being able to hold down the attack button for repeated attacking instead of button-mashing. I’m not even a fan of this style RPG but I have a feeling this’ll be getting a lot of my time Darkfyra Well-Known Member Jan 14, 2017 157 6 18 #18 Darkfyra, Mar 28, 2018 Add no autoplay and the neat touch of camera movement via sliding fingers.I prefer it far more than MD,feel like I am inside SAO and remind me a bit of Asobimo mmos offering. squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,716 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #19 squarezero, Mar 28, 2018 Agreed. nyanpass Well-Known Member Dec 30, 2017 3,374 1,043 113 #20 nyanpass, Mar 28, 2018 Developer and Distributor may be different.
