I'll reach out to developers who released heavily featured premium games as early as last year who have just given up on the platform as they're not even making enough money to pay for the $99 developer license to keep their stuff up on the App Store. I.E. if you go into your purchase history on the app store on your device you'll still see the app listed there and available to download. If you go directly into the 'front' of the app store however, it'll either be not found, or the 'new' version from a different publisher will be shown and you would have to pay to download from that location.
