Winner of the Excellence in Design award at Freeplay 2018. “If you’re a puzzle fan, I can’t stress it enough — you need to play this game.” — AppUnwrapper “Dissembler is one of those puzzle games that just feels good to play around with, but it backs that simple joy with a solid spate of puzzles and gameplay modes.” — Shaun Musgrave, Touch Arcade About the game: Flip pairs of tiles to make matching color groups vanish, but that's where the resemblance to a standard match-three ends. In Dissembler no tiles will drop in to replace the ones you’ve matched: your task is to remove all tiles and leave behind a clean slate. The experience starts simply, leading you gently from basic principles to more complex puzzles, but before long it will require careful planning and lateral thinking. ■ Beautifully-presented minimalist puzzle game with chilled original soundtrack ■ Every one of the 171 puzzles is a hand-made work of art with no randomness ■ Experiment freely – undo any number of moves at any time without any penalty ■ Buy once and enjoy forever – no in-app purchases! ■ Free daily puzzles, plus step-by-step solutions revealed the next day ■ Infinite mode offers an endless play mode with Game Center leaderboard ■ Color-blind mode makes Dissembler accessible to more players Information Seller:Shape Shop Genre:Family, Puzzle Release:Feb 21, 2018 Updated:Oct 15, 2021 Version:1.1.9 Size:29.6 MB TouchArcade Rating: User Rating: (1) Your Rating:unrated Compatibility:HD Universal Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel ROGER-NL Well-Known Member May 21, 2012 4,030 340 83 Male Gamer. Ian, judging from the screenshots, each level appears to have multiple possible solution paths depending on the order of tiles you want to flip. Am I correct? Is there a preferred or optimal solution for each level? It appears that you are ALWAYS required to clear AT LEAST one shape per flip but that you can AT MOST clear TWO shapes per flip. If so, do you know the MINIMUM number of flips needed to clear each level? ianmaclarty Member Mar 9, 2017 12 0 1 #5 ianmaclarty, Feb 22, 2018 Glad you're enjoying it ROGER-NL! ianmaclarty Member Mar 9, 2017 12 0 1 #6 ianmaclarty, Feb 22, 2018 Hi y2kmp3. Some levels have multiple solutions, but most have a single solution, although sometimes the order you flip tiles doesn't matter (though in some it does). The game doesn't measure how "well" you solve a puzzle - there is only solve or not solve As far as the rules go, yes there needs to be at least one match at the end of each move, but there can be more. There are some other subtle rules, but I won't spoil them here as I feel those are fun to discover on your own ROGER-NL Well-Known Member May 21, 2012 4,030 340 83 Male Gamer. THE NETHERLANDS #7 ROGER-NL, Feb 24, 2018 Just got level 67, took me awhile but it has a great solution, this game surprises me more and more its realy that good. Ian did you saw that I had your game from last year Jelly Juggle in my Top Ten of arcade games, it was awseome too, spended many hours on it, it was very addictive, I am always impressed with solo devs. that can deliver great games like these. ianmaclarty Member Mar 9, 2017 12 0 1 #8 ianmaclarty, Feb 24, 2018 Oh no I didn't! Truly brilliant puzzle game. The later mechanics are indeed very clever. The Spoiler self-collapsing tile mechanic is quite novel, serving as a step counter, a timer, and a freebie-turn giver to allow player to set up the board for later matches. Above all, the puzzles are never tedious to solve because all of the solutions can be achieved in just a few steps (as I recall, the maximum number of moves I used in any given level is 10 moves). The solutions are surprisingly refined, with many opportunities for the player to get that so-called light bulb moments that make puzzle games like this one so satisfying to solve. Players who just started on the game are urged to be patient to see through the earlier parts of the game. The game's brilliance truly shines once the more novel mechanics are introduced. Highly recommended for any puzzle fan! Maslan266 Well-Known Member Oct 14, 2017 397 56 28 #12 Maslan266, Feb 26, 2018 Has a place on my backlog now.
