Jump, dash, stomp and dig your way through a strange world inhabited by stranger creatures. Simple, expressive control scheme – Run, dig, drop, jump or dash using only three buttons! Also supports game controllers. === WHAT CRITICS ARE SAYING === “a solid pick-up-and-play roguelike platformer that will really test you.” - Touch Arcade "a really charming sense of style" - 148 Apps “a highly entertaining roguelike platformer" - Pocket Gamer “The game isn’t as good as hanging out with a real four-legged friend, but it has an irresistible charm that brings it pretty close.” - TechRaptor === THE DETAILS === Play both Game Modes: Bone Hunt – The roguelike treasure hunt. Dig for bones across four worlds of increasing difficulty. Battle enemies above perilous cliffs and sunken desert caves. Die a lot. Free Dig – An endless digging experience. Dig through an infinite set of levels with minor challenge and no game overs. Progress is saved. - Forge your own path as you creatively tunnel through each level. - Travel to new worlds! Uncover stranger and more dangerous environments. - Hunt for bones and treasure as you dive deeper. - Discover shops and buy items, but don't get too greedy! - A thumpin’ 8-bit soundtrack you’ll surely dig. === A WORD FROM THE DEVELOPER === Many of my favorite games growing up were platformers. So when I started making games for iPhone, I was keen on building a proper platformer for the system. I think my first attempt, SHAARK!, turned out fun but also quite short. Dig Dog is a much larger and richer experience. Each time you play, the levels are freshly generated. Of course the worlds get steadily harder, but as you dig more you’ll discover a variety of challenges and goals. Will you spend your coins on a helpful item at the shop in 1-3 or horde them in an attempt for a high score. Maybe you’ll try to unlock new Warp Bones or try and beat all 4 worlds without dying. Or maybe just chill out in Free Dig mode with some cathartic digging. I love destructive environments. You can pretty much dig up a whole level if you want. (Although that can be quite dangerous.) As you dig more, you may start to find some of the game’s hidden depths. For instance, if you fast stomp on an enemy you’ll create sparks that ripple to the left and right. These sparks are both useful and dangerous. It depends on when and how you use them. I hope you enjoy Dig Dog. I think there’s a lot to uncover here! -Rusty Information Seller:Rusty Moyher Genre:Action, Adventure Release:Feb 08, 2018 Updated:Feb 01, 2020 Version:1.1.4 Size:106.5 MB TouchArcade Rating: User Rating: (1) Your Rating:unrated Compatibility:HD Universal nyanpass Well-Known Member Dec 30, 2017 3,374 1,043 113 #2 nyanpass, Feb 6, 2018 Last edited: Feb 6, 2018 If you are curious about this game, check out the video below. https://twitter.com/rustym/status/930155621214838784 nyanpass Well-Known Member Dec 30, 2017 3,374 1,043 113 #3 nyanpass, Feb 8, 2018 It's out there. There are two modes. Bone Hunt and Free dig. -Bone Hunt is Hard mode. Once the puppy finds a bone, it moves on to the next stage. After 4 phases, the phase advances to the next level. It gets harder. Monsters and traps will be added. In the middle, you can get coins and recovery items by getting rid of monsters. If there is a store, exchange the upgrade with the collected coins. If the mission fails, the previous record is shown and dog returns to the beginning! The levels seem to be designed almost randomly. -Free dig is Easy mode. Your process is saved and can continue. Your dog can dig through without thinking. Personally, I like this mode. Dig Dog is a platformer that intermixes digging with roguelike gameplay. This launch trailer shows off the game pretty well. Although the game supports MFi game controllers, the touch controls have been built from the ground up to sing on iOS. Im really happy with the final result. Included in the typical score leaderboards and achievements, there is a time-based leaderboard that I think the speed running community in particular will enjoy. Very looking forward to your impressions! Enjoy! [hqyoutube]ajPMh-T1QsE[/hqyoutube] Jean pierre Well-Known Member Mar 24, 2017 320 2 18 #9 Jean pierre, Feb 8, 2018 Instant buy for me. Brillant game! Why do I need to jump up first to go down? Why can’t I just charge forward with out jumping up first then tapping the same button to charge forward pixels before hitting the ground? Needs another action button or two, a down and a charge forward IMHO. I’ll be honest, I was skeptical of touch controls being the best way to play but I wouldn’t have it any other way now. Eventually you learn just how far your dash will go so that you can kill that distant enemy, stopping just short of a saw blade. Digging down along side a spiked enemy so you can dash-kill him from the side is oh so satisfying. -The graphics are simple but are just perfect all around; I swear, the dirt blocks almost look fluffy. I love it. -The chuptune sounds are a delight and the music goes very well with the aesthetic. This is old school greatness. I especially love when, after getting a bone, you fly up through the entire level smashing unbroken blocks and traps. The sound that makes is weirdly satisfying. -Gameplay is so fun, though it took a bit of time to warm up to the fact that everything is done using one action button on the bottom right (with left and right arrows at bottom left to move). If you bought Dig Dog but aren’t quite “getting it”, it may be you just need to warm up to the controls; just experiment for a while dashing around and digging. It really became second nature to me and I can’t think of a better way they could have been done. This is brilliant. Glad to see Carter’s article on the front page. I had no idea you made this in such a unique way. I don’t think a lot of devs would have been able to make such a game, even building it the standard way. I feel like I had some more tips for people but I’m drawing a blank. I can’t recommend Dig Dog enough though. Just be sure to give it time and let it grow on you. Your dash will launch you a bit upwards too. Useful for extending combos and perhaps last minute saves. Reflect - Passive ability. Reflects incoming projectiles. Helpful in World 3 and up! @Anotherkellydown Thank you! Very glad to hear you're liking it!
