I liked this one but for me the room 3 is still the best. old sins reminds me of the first game, puzzles in a box in box in a single room, but with less... mystery or whatever, I don't know, like at has less soul than the previous game; the room 3 had gorgeous environnements each with a story of their own, and this whole tarot cards progression through the fortune telling machine, and the fact you could still dig deeper and not go for the easiest ending. on the other end the story in old sins is quite good actually, that's one tragic story about a couple with no luck since the zero enters their lives; cleverly told through a book that fills itself as you discover more chapters (2 pages each time, meh.) but the room 3 still has the best story and endingS in the whole serie. also, having the same hub everytime you get out of a room is underwhelming. this cellar is empty and the doll house is a bit ugly I think, not much details, doesn't really work as a whole visually... even the rooms inside are somewhat empty... I'm aware this would have taken much more time to do, but if we had to visit the manor itslef rather than a dolls house, it would have been great, you know like in the previous one, point and click your way through the corridors and different rooms... anyway, I don't feel like it's a five star game but it would be a shame to just compare it to the previous which was a master piece. it's just.... good, I guess. But I agree with the earlier comments that it is more reminiscent of the first game than its considerably more ambitious sequels. So in that sense it's a bit of a disappointment, at least so far. We'll see where this goes though. From what I understand, the first game cost less to produce and made more money than either sequel. Although I would imagine that the newness of the concept at the time was a factor in its success. Awesome! Rothgarr Well-Known Member Dec 19, 2010 411 0 16 #18 Rothgarr, Jan 29, 2018 I'm enjoying the game so far. The only issue I've had so far was, I estimate I had gotten about halfway through the game, and it lost my progress. I had to start all over again. But as much as I've been enjoying the game on iPad, I really wish I could play this on PSVR using the Move controllers. brogmoid Well-Known Member Jun 21, 2015 86 7 8 a series of tubes the south side of the sky #19 brogmoid, Jan 31, 2018 I finished this yesterday. Without reservation -- I loved this game and believe it demonstrated again why (for me anyway) The Room series is head and shoulders above other "puzzle box" games of its kind. Easy five star game for me. On the other hand, I thought it was just too easy. I did not use any hints but still breezed through this without ever being seriously stuck. By contrast, The Room 2 and 3 had some serious puzzles that had me stuck for days at a time. As a lifetime adventure-puzzler I live for that experience of working through a really hard, satisfying puzzle. This game didn't offer that feeling. Also, many of the puzzles were creative and outstanding, but some aspects lacked the polish, creativity and detail I've come to expect from The Room. It led me to wonder if the development process of this game differed significantly from previous chapters. In any event, I can't wait for the next game from Fireproof Games. conan321 New Member Jan 31, 2018 1 0 0 #20 conan321, Jan 31, 2018 Is there any new version of this available now.
