Also it felt very much pay-to-Win even in soft launch......would be interested in imps for this full release. Overall I recommend fans of HA1 try it, but certainly don't guaranty it will work for them. I've got about 2/3 of the cards after 6 weeks or so of FTP. Some FTP that started earlier in soft launch have basically all the cards. My very rough ballpark for "feels like you have all the cards" as a FTP? Maybe 4 months, but you can compete for top ranks without literally all the cards, which will take a lot less time. The game is VERY generous in the first week, generous in the next week or so as you level, finish challenges and get rewards, and then it slows down to adequate-ish. Overall, the time to competing for the top ranks on an equal basis is probably a lot less than other FTP titles. That is my objective belief, but subjectively, it can feel like progress is slow if you are used to games like Clash Royale where you are always levelling some card or other. You don't level cards here, so this is not apples-to-apples, but it can be hard to shake the belief that progress should be faster if you are coming from that sort of game. Hearthstone is more of an apples to apples, but I haven't played that recently and can't compare the speed of progress. There are more cards than HA1, and its real time, so the learning curve is harsher. But the mechanics have a HA1 vibe, I like how the games are self-limiting now (no more eternal turtle battles). The strategy of HA1 is there, the feel is there, but sometimes (not always) it does feel a bit less like a chess match than HA1 did and slightly more random given all the different cards and combos. That said, you will outplay and get outplayed. Strategy matters. If you can live with the FTP elements and real-time play, the only real negative is that despite the soft-launch, there are still some balance problems, with one of the three factions being in somewhat rough shape. The team does listen to feedback and is continuing to work on balance, and lets be honest, HA1 was no different. (Remember the Shaolin?) Overall? I definitely recommend trying it if you liked HA1, even if FTP and realtime don't normally appeal to you. Just understand the learning curve is a little steeper than HA1 and be prepared to be a bit patient with it to give it a fair shot. Full disclosure: I've agreed to be a mod of the reddit and have been part of a group giving them some feedback. But I think you will agree that I have tried to be very objective -- indeed, not sure they will be thrilled with me. Hope this all helps.
