With builtin web radio streaming, realistic physics and a night and day cycle it's up to you how to experience the game, pick a slow and resistant car to have a long, safe and relaxing drive on the freeway across the desert, or grab a supercar, take the first exit and end up on a windy and tight mountain road. Respect speed limits or escape the police, drive on paved roads or on sand ones, and all while listening to your favourite music. You'll increase your score for each meter driven, but speed, road difficulty and time of day can greatly alter how much score you'll make and different scoreboards for each car can turn each session into a new challenge that can adapt to many different drive/play styles. Keep in check your fuel and vehicle damage, and stop at service stations to refuel and repair your car, but beware, if you crash, finish your fuel or get arrested, you'll start back from the first mile and al your score will be lost. We are committed to improve and expand Endless Drive and we would love any kind of feedback, bug report or suggestions you can provide , emailing us at [email protected] via Facebook at www.facebook.com/frozenpepper or twitter @frozenpepper . Information Seller:FrozenPepper Genre:Racing, Simulation Release:Dec 21, 2017 Updated:Dec 22, 2018 Version:1.45 Size:255.1 MB TouchArcade Rating:Unrated User Rating: (3) Your Rating:unrated Compatibility:HD Universal Happy to announce that Endless Drive is available for free on the AppStore ! Game is not a racing game, it tries instead to convey the possibly relaxing experience of driving across varied scenarios and on different types of roads. Scenarios and roads are completely procedurally generated with every curve, hill or mountain being defined by procedural algorithms and not "pre-made pieces". You select a car and start from a service station along a freeway, every few miles you will be able to turn into another type of road according to current scenario biome, so for example on the mountains you could find a "Snowy road" to turn into while in the desert you will able to turn into sand roads. There are some light gameplay elements (other than driving) with fuel and car damage to keep in check (stop at service stations to repair and refuel), police that will try to enforce speed limits, and a scoring system that assigns some score for every meter driven but also has score multipliers based on type of road, speed and time of day. Each car has it's own scoreboard. Game features realtime illumination with a full night and day cycle (driving at night grants an additional 0.5 score multiplier) but players can stop at a service station and skip to next sunrise or sunset if the want to avoid a particular condition. Progress is constantly saved so you can resume your trip and your score run even to drive just a few miles, but crashing your car, finishing your fuel or being arrested will cause to end the match and you'll have to restart from mile and score zero. Built into the game is streaming web radio support, with many default stations divided by country, and the possibility to add custom ones (radio after all is a fundamental part of driving experience ). Players can also set up custom playlists from their device music. Game comes with 3 cars free while other are available as in-app purchase, but can also be "test driven" after having seen an advertisement video. While it was considered sort of an experimental side project by us, born to begin testing our new procedural engine, we hope to hear feedback as we would love to improve the game with time, add cars and features, fix bugs etc as we developers love the experience of a relaxing drive and end up developing Endless Driving as some sort of "ode to driving". Also great thanks to all beta testers from the Touch Arcade community and their very precious feedback ! Will definitely work on more control options, with fixed steering wheel being the first one to be added to game. korossyl Well-Known Member Oct 10, 2013 267 0 16 #6 korossyl, Dec 22, 2017 A fantastic concept -- Yu Suzuki's idea for Out Run was to have a "driving" game rather than a "racing" game. The procedural generation seems like so much fun, and moving from biome to biome in a way that makes sense is genius. The controls, as mentioned, are my issue -- after about three minutes, I still couldn't figure out how to do anything except run backwards into a guard rail. It seems that I can only drag the speedometer and steering wheel around, rather than actually use them. Racing game controls tend to be pretty simple, so I'm not sure if I'm just really spoiled, stupid, or if there's actually a problem. I'm REALLY looking forward to progress on this! korossyl Well-Known Member Oct 10, 2013 267 0 16 #7 korossyl, Dec 22, 2017 As a side note... it's almost not worth mentioning... in the United States, "E.D." generally stands for a male reproductive disorder. I chuckled when I first saw the icon, and that might not be what you're going for. sarfa Well-Known Member Mar 18, 2014 90 2 8 #8 sarfa, Dec 22, 2017 Are you using an iPhone X by any chance? Im having the same problems as you are. There is something seriously wrong with the controls, at least on an iPhone X. Hope it gets fixed soon. FrozenPepper Well-Known Member Feb 4, 2009 508 12 18 #9 FrozenPepper, Dec 22, 2017 Last edited: Dec 22, 2017 Great thanks for the feedback ! Guess there is a problem with controls clarity.... Here a fast explanation of current control scheme but will definitely work to provide more options or at least a tutorial. Basically there are 2 classic virtual joysticks but "0" position is set where you first drop your finger, so if you want to accelerate just press on the right side of the screen and drag your finger up, original touch position will be used as "0" position below which you will start braking. Same goes with the steering but with lateral movements. We made this so that you never had to check where to press or have your finger drift out of control area and can focus on the road and scenario. If moving the accelerator joystick doesn't cause any movement, the car might be turned off, in which case there should be a "Start" button to press to start your engine. Hope this helps. About E.D. being a reproductive disorder ... LOL ..... F#@k..... LOL ....... I'm laughing too much to consider it a problem for the moment, but might need to address the problem.... Does a purchase stop the ads? Billy FrozenPepper Well-Known Member Feb 4, 2009 508 12 18 #15 FrozenPepper, Dec 22, 2017 And another "tip" (should be in a tutorial), in the bottom center of the screen there are 2 icons, one handles the headlights, the other activates cruise control, once you tap it, car will record your current speed and thanks to the magics of a PID controller it will handle the throttle just as a real car would to maintain the target speed. Coming with one of the first updates, we will add 2 arrows to increase and decrease wanted speed once in cruise control mode. Hello ! Hope you'll enjoy the game / experience and to see you in the leaderboards. Been there.... I hear you. Plus due to work, life, current housing, town life etc, it's always harder even having a car and driving license to find the time to take a good drive....Hence, now there is an app for that Thanks for the interest and kind words, very happy you are liking the game. And yes, whichever in-app purchase you'll make it should (else it's a bug, let me know) remove the (quite rare) interstitial ads, "Test Drive" mode and required video reward for non purchased cars will remain, but just that. Good job! korossyl Well-Known Member Oct 10, 2013 267 0 16 #19 korossyl, Dec 23, 2017 I think the game you're looking for is very different than this game. In fact, I'm not even sure this app IS a game. It's a driving simulator with no objectives or win conditions: that's precisely the point. Let 99% of games be purposeful; let just a few be purely experiential. If that's boring, then this isn't for you, but your criticism is kind of like saying "I don't like Civilization; it should be a third-person shooter." I'm going to buy all of the cars to support development. I really like the concept of this game. It's fun for me. I love the procedural generation! I actually LIKE the controls. I tightened them up in options and I can maneuver spot on. I actually like how it's implemented. Now, give me a tank that opens fire and causes mayhem on that highway. I want to blow up things. Hahahahahaha. I'll pay $10 for that mode. Lol Billy (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
