What are the IAPs? yankeeblue000 Well-Known Member Aug 29, 2016 644 36 28 #3 yankeeblue000, Dec 7, 2017 This looks incredible. Positive reviews. Seems like a lot of love went into this. The IAP's I think are for extra chapters. I haven't bought this yet, but I will. I'm playing 3 other games I bought today. So many incredible games continue to keep rolling out on iOS. iOS as a gaming platform is where I prefer to play. iOS/Mobile gamers have been getting much love this year. Chapters 2 and 3, actually. They go separately for $2.99 each or $3.99 in a bundle. And yep, it certainly is a labor of love. Nothing says that more than the usual “Plays best with headphones” type message, except when it’s being recommended personally by the composer. Playing on my iPad, the fighting controls were decent, but not great. The game gives very little tutorial for its fighting system. Hilariously, after teaching you some stuff they let you practice on a dummy for about 15 seconds, then the teacher basically says: "Okay, that's enough training, keep moving". Most of the gameplay is built around fighting. In the tutorials, they make it seem like you're supposed to be timing your punches/kicks to make combos, but what I found was that just tapping quickly triggers the desired combos much more effectively. After making it most of the way through the chapter, they finally teach you to dodge, which fits into the touch controls much better than blocking (and, so far, at least, all attacks can be dodged, but not all attacks can be blocked). Oddly, the fighting has two different perspectives: one-on-one and group fighting. In the grouping fighting perspective, I found it most effective to just tap madly so that Shuyan is punching and kicking in long combos, with the occasional roll to get somewhere (the game specifically tells you that you should be rolling instead of walking in this perspective). Against bosses (and sometimes randomly in the group fighting), it switches perspectives to one-on-one. Overall, the story is nothing special, but there's a lot of art, which is cool. All dialogue is fully voiced with voice acting that I will generously describe as tolerable. I'm planning to pick up the later chapters as well. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
