Seams like a Rock em Sock em but actually has a lot of strategy involved in winning fights. Already giving me a Barry mcguigsns boxing vibe (classic game from the 80s) ColinL Well-Known Member Patreon Gold Jul 29, 2014 147 0 16 #5 ColinL, Dec 7, 2017 Thanks guys! I appreciate it. Yep! had Barry Mcguigans boxing on my Amstrad! Was definitely an influence along with Knockout kings 2001. One of the main things I wanted was that your punches don't get cancelled out when you get hit, that always annoyed me. So in Big Shot boxing you can 'trade' punches, both fighters can land punches at the same time and they both register. psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,966 718 113 England #6 psj3809, Dec 7, 2017 Loving it so far Got too cocky in my 4th fight and lost it on points ! Gutted But excellent so far. Would be nice perhaps to have some mini games when I out do training ? But cant wait to play this later Just bought the IAP to remove any adverts. Cheers for the game gmattergames Well-Known Member Mar 1, 2013 607 42 28 #7 gmattergames, Dec 7, 2017 Still unclear about the stun/knock-down progression, which appears to be a key part of winning. Tutorial seemed to indicate stun is achieved by cross, followed by uppercut, yet, unclear if this is the only way to stun and whether an rng factor determines success. Far more tactical than Lanes previous, but still casual. As other poster indicated, big jump in difficulty after you move up a few ranks. ColinL Well-Known Member Patreon Gold Jul 29, 2014 147 0 16 #8 ColinL, Dec 7, 2017 Maybe I need to make it a bit more clear, either an uppercut or a cross can trigger a stun or a flash knockdown at any time. There are some factors that make it more likely to happen such as if the opponent is moving forward into the punch or if they have previously been knocked down. Yeah things get tough quickly, as the coach suggests its a good idea to fight the easy guys a couple of times to build up stats before moving on. JohnnyClash Well-Known Member Mar 11, 2016 611 1 0 #9 JohnnyClash, Dec 7, 2017 Portal Knights is awesome, but this is the game I am playing most right now. Super fun game, with nice progression. Easy ad-buyout makes it a premium game. orangecan Well-Known Member Aug 9, 2011 2,000 150 63 #10 orangecan, Dec 7, 2017 Yeah I'm really enjoying this as well, can only echo what the others have said. It's a lot of fun. LordShad0wz Well-Known Member Nov 19, 2014 4,280 1 38 #11 LordShad0wz, Dec 7, 2017 Hell Yeah!! As always, any game made by Colin is an instant purchase for me. I removed the adverts before I even played and let me tell you I am glad I did. I love this game. It's fun as hell. There is definitely a strategy to it. I love career mode!! I love the different upgrades and you can tell how each upgrade effects your character during a match. I cannot wait to unlock other characters. I wish we could customize a boxer. If there was one thing I could have added it would be that. Billy ColinL Well-Known Member Patreon Gold Jul 29, 2014 147 0 16 #12 ColinL, Dec 7, 2017 Really appreciate all the support folks, This game has been a pet project of mine for a long time so its great to see people enjoying it. I was actually expecting a few complaints about the random aspects of the knockdowns, I love it but I know many people don't like luck based elements. As Billy said there is strategy to it, knowing when to punch and when to block, how to counter and uppercut with a straight punch etc. The less you get hit the less chance you get knocked out! I actually toyed a bit with customisation, I think it is possible, I just need a bit of time to work out how to do it. Hopefully something I can add in future updates. Faemanx Active Member Dec 9, 2011 44 0 0 #13 Faemanx, Dec 7, 2017 great boxing game. but twice it has frozen up after 7 or 8 fights which results in starting a new career after ive rebooted the game and my device which is an iphone 8. apart from that i love it. Hope it does well. ColinL Well-Known Member Patreon Gold Jul 29, 2014 147 0 16 #17 ColinL, Dec 8, 2017 Ah sorry about that, Im looking into it now, thanks for the screenshot. ColinL Well-Known Member Patreon Gold Jul 29, 2014 147 0 16 #18 ColinL, Dec 8, 2017 Yeah because I'm not using animations for the punches the body remains pretty static, to get the proper body movement like you would see in other games I would have to use animations. The reason I went with the joints set up is I wanted the game to be physics based, so you can get hit and your head gets rocked back but you can also keep throwing punches, you don't switch to a 'hurt' animation that cancels out the punch etc. pisiform Active Member Aug 10, 2014 37 0 6 #19 pisiform, Dec 11, 2017 Last edited: Dec 11, 2017 Played this quite a bit so far and am really enjoying it. Surprisingly tough game and I've found a need to be quite tactical at the top. Managed to get world champion on novice but really only through a lucky punch. Please Colin can you consider implementing TKOs - it's really frustrating to knock someone down three or four times a round and still have to carry on to another round. Also the scoring can be quite opaque sometimes - not always number of punches, ignores stuns (I think) and only knockdowns are certain to score for you Good game though ColinL Well-Known Member Patreon Gold Jul 29, 2014 147 0 16 #20 ColinL, Dec 12, 2017 So you want the "three knockdown rule" in effect, I have been going back and forth over this one. Im following the unified rules of boxing which doesn't call for a fight to be stopped if a boxer goes down 3 times in a round. And I have myself been down three times in a round to come back and win the fight. I will test it out and see how it feels. Thanks for playing, glad to hear you are enjoying it.
