I was terrible at this game, but I found a cheesy way to be competitive back then and it got me a 6 games winning streak. 1) Pick someone with a lot of health, like E-Honda. 2) Stack gems on the side as quickly as possible, don't bother spinning them into shapes and patterns, drop them straight down vertically while avoiding breaking any gems. The idea is you want to accumulate gems at a much quicker rate than your opponent. Eventually the diamond drops, it clears out one color and you will get lucky chain combos and overwhelm your opponent, still works 20 years later! I am a master of the original puzzle fighter and i loose cause my damage is not high enough and not by my puzzle fighter skills. That irks me to no end. If they made this a actual sequel like this only a retail app would be awesome. Super disappointed in this. I thought i read they are bringing the true puzzle fighter hd remix to the mobile devices also.
