They seem to be relying on greed instead; every time you win loot, they simply offer you one extra piece of loot for watching an ad. If you watch an ad, it's because you made a deliberate choice to. It's worth noting that when you start the game, the first chapter has you playing as part of the Legion, fighting against opponents from the Dynasty. The weapons you get first (twin swords, twin axes, greatspears, greatswords) are generally slower and hit harder. Your opponents wield smaller and faster weapons (knives, scimitars, nunchakus). On the one hand, it's just the way the lore and story is; in the first chapter you're in an army of strong, steady warriors fighting an enemy known for their agility and speed. On the other hand, this is the game teaching you the importance of positioning. You almost always have a reach advantage - you can win a lot of battles if you understand your opponent's weapon reach. Of course, none of this is going to help if you're just spamming attacks. If you find yourself doing this, make this the #1 priority bad habit to get rid of. First, you wont get any more chests once all your slots are filled up. You will have to wait (3h at minimum which stacks up with higher reward chests, 2nd tier chest is 8h) or unlock them with premium currency. You will fill them up pretty fast with low tier chests in the first couple minutes of playing and you can only unlock them one by one. All the wait timers wont progress at the same time. Second, there is a daily limit on how much coins you can get. I hit that gap pretty fast after half of an hour playing. So no further income to buy booster packs for new gear. Side missions can also only be done every couple hours. So I‘m at a point where I cant progress in any mode after half an hour of playing without spending any premium currency. The next story mission is labeled as „Hard“. I could probably beat that by upgrading my gear cuz I didnt yet but after that it wont get any easier for sure. There will be a point where your enemy gets incredible difficult, no matter what. No reward from chests. No reward from side missions. No reward for duelling since I hit the daily gap for coins. Can still play duell mode but even that is throwing enemies of an much higher level than me at me atm. No reward for this (daily coin gap) except ranking up in duell, if at all, due to difficulty spikes and the income you will get every couple hours depending on your duell rank. Maybe I have missed something but yeah. Just take this all in consideration if you are going to play this without spending any real money. Its a fun and engaging game though. The system is sufficiently open that everyone can develop their own style. It hadnt occurred to me to conduct my avatar in an honourable manner but that is certainly in interesting concept.
