Pretty much my only gripe with the game, everything else is full on 5 stars. Also in case people don't notice, while they've done an amazing job making the game fully playable with one hand, it also supports landscape and I actually far prefer playing it that way using two hands. jpgold Well-Known Member Sep 21, 2012 1,818 56 48 Online Ad Sales - Pandora New York, NY #5 jpgold, Nov 15, 2017 That is a huge disappointment and agree. I get ads, but will never understand an energy system that doesn't at least offer an option to turn it "premium." @Lucky Kat - would you ever consider offering an IAP to get rid of it? Lucky Kat Well-Known Member Mar 18, 2015 272 3 18 The Netherlands http://www.lucky-kat.com #6 Lucky Kat, Nov 15, 2017 No, we're not. It might sound strange from a player's perspective, but we don't want players to play too long since you'll get tired of it too soon. We've compared it with eating a cake - it's much nicer to eat some slices every day than eating the whole cake at one go and feel sick of it. dreadnok Well-Known Member Jun 8, 2011 4,157 7 38 I came here to kick ass and chew bubble gum I'm ou #7 dreadnok, Nov 15, 2017 Exactly right if you’re able to breeze through the game in one session you’ll complain it’s too short In this way you get short bursts of fun but you know what they say about not pleasing everyone Dailon80 Well-Known Member Nov 10, 2014 3,574 66 48 Program Director/Radio DJ Eos #8 Dailon80, Nov 15, 2017 Last edited: Nov 15, 2017 Energy systems for games rock, you didn’t know that haha it’s a free game it’s expected guys if it was premium and had an energy system then a gripe would be legit But I will say again energy systems in games rock and are so much fun Said no one ever I’m a premium guy but I will give this one a try since I love the old 90s beat em ups Intendro Well-Known Member Aug 6, 2013 1,207 0 0 #9 Intendro, Nov 15, 2017 No. I am sick of this. Saucepolicy Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Feb 18, 2009 501 4 18 Crispy ex-game developer #10 Saucepolicy, Nov 16, 2017 I can tell you why developers don't do this, from personal experience - F2P and premium economies cannot coexist, because they each have downstream effects on the game design and balance. Providing the option to turn off energy simply negates the refill value proposition for everyone, not just the premium players. And honestly, the number of players who are turned off is dwarfed by the people who don't care. Premium mobile gamers are an endangered species. And yes, I know that some games have provided this option. I daresay that if you looked at the data they're collecting from players that they've shot themselves in the foot, especially considering player expectations for continuous game updates. I'd prefer an unlimited energy IAP, but I understand why there isn't one. The chests do seem a little unbalanced though. 1200 for a standard chest? When you can buy 960 for $10? I think $10 for a chest is a bit much. Overall, it's a very fun game and I'll definitely keep playing as long as the IAP doesn't get too much in the way. The controls are excellent (I like landscape mode, it's nice to see more of the area), the graphics are great, and the gameplay has been fun so far. Solid 9/10 from me. I've played a lot of beat em ups during my youth on arcade and Sega Genesis. Double Dragon, Streets of Rage, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs and X-Men in the arcades, you name it. You've captured the challenging and keep-someone-on-their-toes nature of beat em ups. Plus the interesting characters. Love the enemy designs and AI (the dynamite baddie was at first intimidating but now I can use his dynamite against himself and other the enemies) I say, the energy are arcade tokens! I only lost once when I tried the Rin character but it didn't suit my playstyle So I had to put another 3 tokens (pay 3 energy) in and play again as Lee. From then on, it's Lee for me and kept on beating the streets. By the way, Android version has a sound bug. When the game is minimized and I receive a notification from Tweet or something else. The sound plays even when the game is closed if that happens. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
