Really like this. Only criticism is you only get one life then have to try again. Should be 3 at least. Love the arcade machine and intro with the sounds
Maybe a dumb question but is the screen that small in-game or does it go to regular size after intro?
It can be played in portrait or landscape. In landscape it's easier to control as there are virtual buttons other than the ones on the arcade cabinet, but the tradeoff is that the game screen is smaller. In portrait the game screen is nice and large, not quite full screen but close, but you have to play using the buttons on the cabinet and this is definitely a two hand game so that might be uncomfortable for some. It's not really a typical shoot em up in that it's lane-based so it feels more like a runner than a free scrolling shooter. All that said, it's a pretty fun little game and the faux arcade cabinet and coin inserting stuff is neat. Here's the game in portrait, fyi:
Im enjoying it! Its pretty tough. Like someone else mentioned, it would be nice to get three lives to start with. I prefer playing this in portrait mode as it feels more like a real cabinet experience to me, which is cool! Even though its an auto-shooter for the most part though, its a bit tricky to move left/right and then use the beam at the same time IMO. Too many times I find myself fumbling between the two and die un-necessarily doing that. Regardless, this is a fun score-chaser, and has that one-more-time-thing going for it that we all love!
The game is pretty fun, I use ipad air2 so I prefer landscape, since it is more comfortable. Basically, you kill enemies to gain money(=score), later you will get 3 upgrades: Shield, Bullet and Laser beam, spend your money wisely.
This just went on sale for free. Hopefully its not a move to f2p but if it is, well a mans gotta eat.
