You have three choices. Usually one a battle, or the next area, sometimes you can buy goods or open chests. Starts off easy enough to get you used to the game. Starts off with two cards each turn. I'm curious to see how complex it gets.. Nice looking game as well. peecock017 Member Mar 20, 2017 11 0 1 #5 peecock017, Oct 21, 2017 If you have ever played Dream Quest, you will shame on this game. Dream Quest looks like it's a different game from this one (and I'm not talking about the horrible art in Dream Quest either)? I'm actually curious. Dream Quest is well reviewed but I just couldn't get over the appearance. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 703 113 #10 anthony78, Oct 21, 2017 Don’t get the comparisons to Dream Quest. There is no dungeon crawling here. You choose between various events sometime with choices within those events that lead to different outcomes. Some interesting characters along the way. Sure there’s card battling with some similar mechanics there but aren’t there like hundreds of games like that? Totally unfair to bash this as a DQ clone. DTK Well-Known Member Aug 22, 2014 343 12 18 Marketing Berlin Germany #11 DTK, Oct 21, 2017 The graphics from Dream Quest are ugly and childish. If the game is good too, these are the reasons why I never wanted to buy and play the game. skoptic Well-Known Member Apr 3, 2015 634 82 28 #12 skoptic, Oct 21, 2017 I was in the same boat, but bought DQ recently. It is very good and Ive not really scratched the surface. Very one more run gameplay, definitely worth putting aside aesthetic considerations for this one (I really held out a long time too!) peecock017 Member Mar 20, 2017 11 0 1 #13 peecock017, Oct 21, 2017 Nope. If you play more on both of the games, you will find that almost all the cards in this game are from Dream Quest. They don't even change the values of those cards. Also, the mechanics of the monsters, character skills, altars(Pandora's Box in this game) and so many other features are totally the same. Why this game does not have the dungeon crawl part? Just because they copy from another card game called 卡牌冒险者(Card Adventurer in English)which is another Chinese web game HEAVILY INSPIRED by Dream Quest. This game is developed by a Chinese team and has raised heated discussion in Chinese forums about whether this game is a copy. Unfortunately, most players have to agree that this game is a copy. shfrost Well-Known Member Apr 9, 2010 432 10 18 Artist Wooded area #14 shfrost, Oct 21, 2017 But is it as good as Dream Quest? Because if it is, I'm in. Considering Dream Quest will probably never be updated beyond the most recent one for iOS11, it would be great to have something similar with a current developer (and with far better art). Of course, this is assuming the game is legit to begin with. I don't mind borrowing ideas from other games. That's where most games come from. But let's not go down that road again. So, how does it play? Some card mechanics maybe from dream quests, but this game is definitely well worth the money and has some awesome style / sound effects. Its also a ton of fun. Uchti Well-Known Member May 21, 2014 104 0 16 #16 Uchti, Oct 22, 2017 I have played Dream Quest for countless hours... it is one of the best games I have ever played on IOS # And this game clearly "steals" gameplay and even certain cards from Dream quest. But I think it is fine. As someone mentioned above, copying ideas doesn't have to be bad. This games visuals are superb, I really love the style and theme! The gameplay, while a little bit less cards than DQ and the lack of an overworld, is really good and holds up to its source. There is even a more overarching storyline to unlock, the only downside for me is that achievements seem not to unlock anything, unlike in DQ. Conclusion: While I would have preferred the author of DQ himself would bring out another title and cash in on his formula, this game is actually well polished and distinct enough to warrant the purchase! I am enjoying my time so far, like I did back in the day with DQ! (Guys go and buy Dream Quest if you didn't do so yet, haha) L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #17 L.Lawliet, Oct 22, 2017 I spent way too much money on apps and collectibles this week but I saw the trailer for this and knew I had to have it! Gave it a quick starter run and wow... Extremely addictive, high production values, and great for quick plays. I can't wait to play more of this along with Icey. Even with the comparison to DQ, the production values can't be compared. Night and day. Improvements to a great formula are always welcome for any game imo. My only gripe so far is the icon. It's a bit blurred and also has one of those long truncated names that look terrible. I notice this a lot on Chinese apps. I feel like they don't bother with the icon aesthetics for some reason. sugimulm Well-Known Member Aug 28, 2010 2,457 46 48 The last time zone for iOS game releases :( #18 sugimulm, Oct 22, 2017 Is there a story or just keep playing till you die? jsrco Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Oct 15, 2009 2,134 1 38 Coordinator Seattle https://www.Fatthunder.com #19 jsrco, Oct 22, 2017 There is a story but the game plays close to solitraica as far as the layout.
