So far the game is pretty generous in letting me rank up my characters, which they give you 5 by the 2nd chapter. When defeating Ork bosses, I've been branding them....they come in useful when fighting bosses for sure. I've got level 10 now and it's got to the point that I don't have enough of the currency required to upgrade my units so I'm having to 'raid' already completed stages over and over again. I just evolved a character for the first time and found that you have to evolve a character 5 times to add one star.....SW:GoH was tough enough to upgrade characters but this game just takes the biscuit. So to get one of my two star character to 7 stars I'd have to evolve it 35 times....and presumably it's going to cost more and more shards each time you add a star. With the hype around the console/pc game this should have just been a marketing tool to sell more copies and build more hype. Instead it's a complete cash grab. It's going to cost you £30 to do an 11 unit pull from the gacha. And you're not even guaranteed to get any characters as far as I can tell. You might just get shards. tl:dr - Could have been great. Your get a free grab every 4 hours, and just from that I've evolved characters about 5-6 times. I like that the game doesn't force you to play socially, and take 'friends' with you every time. Instead you can take one of your branded orcs. I don't mind the auto-raiding. Sometimes I only have the time to jump in and mash the Raid button on my highest 3-starred level until my energy runs out. Then the next time I go in I can use that loot to level up my guys. The fighting itself has a bit of Battleheart soul in it, too, though in a much smaller scale.
