First a hearty welcome and thanks to all the new lumberjacks! The next update to Buff Mountain is already in the works, and I wanted to provide an exclusive sneak preview of the new features. Score Board: Let's face it. You've got a competitive streak. One of my favorite things I've seen players do is tilt their screen towards their buddy and say "beat that!" An in-game score board is going to help you display the heights of your buffness, and the distance of your dedication. And don't worry, the game is already tracking this info behind the scenes: so you are making progress right now (even though you can't see it yet). Daily Challenge: Each run up Buff Mountain is randomly generated, like shuffling a deck of cards while maintaining an increasing difficulty curve. If no two runs up the hill are the same, though, how can you compare scores? Well, in further service of the competitive spirit, I'll provide a Daily Challenge that, besides offering special rewards, will present the same challenge to all lumberjacks. That's a score you can be proud of! Share That Lumberjack: You spend all this time earning those coins, trying out axes, and styling your beard. And who gets to see it? Only the people within viewing distance of your phone? Not after this update! You'll be able to send your lumberjack to social media, through the magic of the internet, so you can put that beardliness on display at last! (Oh yeah, and you'll be able to brag about them scores, too.) Account Management: Woo! Accounts! Everyone... loves... *sigh* okay this one's kinda boring. But you don't want to lose all your progress do you? Link up a social media account and you can take your lumberjack with you across devices. No muss, no fuss. Hm, there was one more... what was it? Oh yeah, GRIZZLY WOLVES. batmessiah Well-Known Member Sep 26, 2009 78 0 6 R&D Lab Technician http://www.what-is-sleep.com/ #4 batmessiah, Aug 24, 2017 Last edited: Aug 24, 2017 Looks great, and I’m going to download it now. Question though, I know there was a very similar game released for the Commodore 64 a good 30 years ago, and now it’s driving me crazy trying to remember what it was called! Any ideas? EDIT : I figured it out! It’s the third stage in the old game “Jungle Hunt”! I think I only ever got my hands on a Commodore 64, like, once, and I'd never seen Jungle Hunt. Watched a let's play. So cool, almost like Buff Mountain was inspired by a collective memory out of our gamer DNA, or something. Thanks for sharing and thanks for playing! (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
