I'm sorry you had to deal with that bug. I definitely want to get to the bottom of it. What type of iPhone are you using? But the idea and the graphics are very nice! TicTac likes this. LionForests Member Aug 5, 2017 10 0 1 #6 LionForests, Aug 5, 2017 Great but... Surprised that the game is not more popular, I gave my money just convinced by the concept, video, and the developer's enthusiasm. The game is great, except for some frustrations that I'm sure could be fixed easily. First, the lack of manual zoom and manual pan. The map itself is not always useful, and very small (sometimes I cannot see the starting point!). On some courses I'm flying blind, like level 11 for example. This is sad for a game requiring accuracy. Also the intro playing at the start of each course should be skippable. When you try many times to get the 5 stars on the same course, having to wait several seconds each time amount to minutes after a while, and this is not what I was used to on mobile games where you want to play short sessions. I hope my suggestions will fall on good ears. Thank you again for the game, I wish you all the success. DiscGolf2Go Well-Known Member Nov 1, 2010 51 0 6 http://thinkingimpairedstudios.com/ #7 DiscGolf2Go, Aug 6, 2017 Hi, LionForests, thanks for your comments. I'm glad you are enjoying the game! I've heard similar suggestions from a few others. In my first, bug-focused, update (which I hope to have out very soon) I'm definitely going to take out the level intro when you replay a lvl over and over. I'm also going take a look at the map/zoom features and see if I can rework them to give players more control over the view. I wonder, would you want to the option to take shots even if the map was fully zoomed out, ...even if that made everything really small and hard to see? LionForests Member Aug 5, 2017 10 0 1 #8 LionForests, Aug 6, 2017 Thank you for your answer. Glad to see that you take player feedback into account! Your suggestion for taking shots on the map sounds good, but maybe it should be limited to aiming, and then the zoom would revert to normal once the disc flies. Otherwise, I fear that players would stay always on the map and never enjoy the graphics Also, another little thing I think about. On the map screen, the 'disc' button is visible but not active, maybe it should be. Eager to see the next update. Can you elaborate on where it didn't meet your expectations? Grist Well-Known Member Nov 7, 2008 362 25 28 VP of Marketing Massachusetts #13 Grist, Aug 6, 2017 (1) My iPhone 6S Plus got extremely hot after only a few minutes of game play, (2) No ability to peruse the layout of each hole by pinch zooming or moving one's finger across the screen, (3) Reducing shot power is frustratingly hard to gauge, (3) The ball sometimes will hit a tree despite not coming particularly close to the tree, (4) Game doesn't display correctly on iPads; for example, the "select" button when choosing a disc doesn't show up on an iPad screen, (5) Pricing creates expectation of getting a polished iOS game; this is far from being polished, (6) Frequent repetition of the same dialog boxes during the first few holes is irritating and unnecessary, and (7) The game is simply not fun; I can imagine it being more enjoyable if redesigned to be an iPad game that displays each hole in its entirety while enabling shots to be taken. DiscGolf2Go Well-Known Member Nov 1, 2010 51 0 6 http://thinkingimpairedstudios.com/ #14 DiscGolf2Go, Aug 7, 2017 Thanks for the explanation, this is all very helpful! Being able to pinch and zoom at will is something that has come up alot and is one of my main focuses for the upcoming update. I also intend to remove some of the repetitive nature of the pop-ups and level intros. These changes will definitely smooth out the experience. I'm definitely sorry you had such a bad experience with the game on an iPad. Disc Golf To Go optimized and designed for the iPhone only. (bolded for anyone else reading). I do plan on making it universal in the future. I considered it during development, but put it off because it is quite the undertaking, and would have delayed release alot longer than I wanted. Me too! I honestly can't wait to play Disc Golf To Go properly on a big iPad screen. Anyway, I'll be updating this thread with more info on the next update. DiscGolf2Go Well-Known Member Nov 1, 2010 51 0 6 http://thinkingimpairedstudios.com/ #17 DiscGolf2Go, Aug 8, 2017 Hi everyone, here's a quick video of the new "quick loading" system coming in the next update. If you restart a level, or replay the same level, the game will skip the camera move and start you right on your disc. This will definitely save you time when trying levels multiple times. Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Also, the map screen will also remember what level you just played and auto-scroll to that one instead of going to the highest numbered level you played. In version 1.1 I'm going to address as many of these bugs and requests as possible. There's a bunch of tiny things, but the next two big ones are being able to aim more precisely with low power, and the weird alignment bug that rseller1 mentioned on the first page. My goal is to get this updated submitted by next weekend. I'll let you all know. I'm still working on pan/zoom camera controls, as well as the off-center. Overall, progress is being made at a good pace and I hope to submit it soon. Thanks for the support!
