Been looking for a good Mirror's Edge-like fps free-runner since I got iPhone and this is the closest it's come so far. This game is probably my favorite runner on the iOS platform. That said, I would still much prefer a more free roaming off-rails parkour experience in the vein of mirrors edge, but until that day, I will replay this with enthusiasm! Level structure and tutorial "simulator" mechanic are very well done and the game is challenging enough to keep you coming back for just one more run. Highly recommended for anyone craving a parkour style experience. redribbon Well-Known Member Jun 11, 2010 2,799 53 48 entepreanur, programmer #5 redribbon, Jul 26, 2017 the game is hard, i thought it was the level design to blame. turns out i was wrong and this game is quite amazing for 3 men's work. its all about timing and precision. check it out level 1 to 8 60fps gameplay: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Exact-Psience Well-Known Member Jan 12, 2012 22,664 2 38 The Work-At-Home Guy Philippines #6 Exact-Psience, Jul 26, 2017 Seeing a new premium runner makes me cry happy tears. The game is polished and I like it a lot. However, avoiding/interacting with obstacles usually requires the exact same action from the player. This makes it feel like there is very little variation in gameplay. I've only played 4-5 levels so it might get better over time. TheGodless Well-Known Member Jan 15, 2013 207 2 18 #9 TheGodless, Jul 27, 2017 I like the art style, but at least from the first few levels I played, I didn't see that it was any different from all of the other auto runners. Hopefully, the game opens up more and isn't so linear and generic. The gameplay video seems to indicate that it does open up a little with the addition of fights, but if the fights are just more obstacles to avoid, I'm not sure they will increase the complexity of the gameplay enough to make it stand out. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 703 113 #10 anthony78, Jul 27, 2017 Looks good but some of the impressions are giving me hesitation as far as repetition and lack of variety. Ill hold off for now. retr0spective Well-Known Member May 24, 2011 915 17 18 Riverside, CA #11 retr0spective, Jul 27, 2017 I feel the same way. It seems like we have had a dearth of good runners in general for a while now. The trailer reminds me a lot of Fotonica which I still play and enjoy. My name is Louis and I'm one of the three members of the 8SEC Team Thanks a lot for the kind words, it means a lot to us! About the timing of obstacles, it looks tight at first, but you'll see it's a lot more tolerant than it shows, there's a bit of margin for error everywhere so the game is not too frustrating. As for the repetitivity, the first part of the game (levels 1 to 8) are there to learn the basics of the parkour and movement, and after that you get another big part that comes on top of that. When you have learned all the gameplay mechanics, there's a lot going on at once and it's really thrilling to move across the levels or through the Endless Mode retr0spective Well-Known Member May 24, 2011 915 17 18 Riverside, CA #14 retr0spective, Jul 29, 2017 Last edited: Jul 29, 2017 Levels 1-8 are for learning the basics! I am on Level 6 right now and the game is already crazy! I can hardly imagine what is in store for me when my skills take me past level 8. I wish to congratulate you and your team for producing a terrific, fun, and challenging game. The music, art, and unique gameplay all work harmoniously together to produce a very coherent and stylish experience. I am really enjoying it so far and as I said before, it is very nice to have a good runner enter the arena with so few really choice offerings lately. Howerver, once you reach a certain part (Level 12 or 13) in the game, you unlock the ENDLESS MODE, which is completely randomized! Each run is unique and throws everything the game has at you, in different themes, time of day and weather. And when you finish the game, you unlock the DAILY CHALLENGE which provide you with a new level each and every day (the same for everyone so you can compare with friends). We designed the game so you have a good sense of completion with the story, then you get pure gameplay and fun to go back to the game every time you want to without having to play the same levels over and over again CraigG Well-Known Member Apr 21, 2009 107 5 18 #18 CraigG, Jul 31, 2017 On my 6s, the downwards swipe seems weirdly difficult to trigger, resulting in multiple failures on courses that require it. Is there some kind of trick to it. (As for whoever mentioned Fotonica, this game's not very similar. Fotonica is a floaty reverse Canabalt in a world of Rez. This feels closer to Run!, albeit in first-person.) LG@8SEC Member Jul 27, 2017 23 0 0 #19 LG@8SEC, Jul 31, 2017 You have to keep holding your finger on the screen for as long as you want to slide! We made a mistake in the tutorial and did not explain that clearly, it's one of the things we are working on So swipe downwards to trigger the slide, and keep your finger in place. Release when you want to get back up! LG@8SEC Member Jul 27, 2017 23 0 0 #20 LG@8SEC, Aug 1, 2017 Last edited: Aug 1, 2017 Free codes for you Hello again!
