It does exactly what it says on the tin and it does it very well. Heartily recommended. orangecan Well-Known Member Aug 9, 2011 2,000 150 63 #3 orangecan, Jul 26, 2017 I've been playing for a bit and yeah it does exactly what it says on the tin and I'm enjoying it so far. My only issue is that the ball physics feel a bit floaty but that could just be me. Looking forward to seeing how the new courses develop and I'm interested to know how they'll keep them fresh because I could see them getting a bit samey. But it's fun and I like the leaderboard element and I'd happily pay for this but I'm not sure what their pay structure is because there's no iap that I've seen nor any ads. The thing is slowly rolling and just floats right over the hole. shallotgames Well-Known Member Patreon Gold Jul 15, 2017 57 18 8 http://shallotgames.com #10 shallotgames, Jul 27, 2017 Definitely not as forgiving as some of the other golf games out there that seem to have some sort of magnet attracting the ball. It's hard, but you should feel accomplished when you finally get it in and the level fades into the water - you'll know that that ball is in that tiny hole for one reason. No one helped you put it there, the system is not rigged to help you out, it's a challenge that YOU overcame. You beat that hole, and you should feel awesome, because you are. At least that's my take on golf. Golf is hard. waxthirteen Active Member Apr 18, 2013 33 0 0 #11 waxthirteen, Jul 27, 2017 You all sound like paid shills. The physics are incredibly frustrating to work with and the power never seems to get the ball where you need it to go: too far or not far enough. It feels like the ball is rolling through mud. Very nice minimalist art direction and simple 1-handed controls. That's about all I liked about it before I deleted it. brianj22 Well-Known Member Dec 14, 2016 180 0 0 #12 brianj22, Jul 27, 2017 My counter: the game came out 12 hours ago, maybe you need a little more practice. I found the controls a little finicky at first on the front 9 of the first course I played but by the back 9 was starting to get the hang of it. They could perhaps still use some tweaking and fine tuning but we're all paid shills for commenting on the game just because you're so frustrated with the controls? It's a nice simple mobile golf game with nice graphics that will provide 54 fresh holes of golf every week and an endless mode free to download with no IAP. It's great, maybe not perfect, but it's a nice little game thus far. shallotgames Well-Known Member Patreon Gold Jul 15, 2017 57 18 8 http://shallotgames.com #13 shallotgames, Jul 27, 2017 Hi, I'm Reid, the developer/not a paid person. Sorry if my last message came across as annoying - release day is always stressful and if things get too serious it tends to make things worse for my sanity. Sorry to hear about your complaints, but as another user said, maybe it just takes a little getting used to? My perspective is going to be a little biased based on my months of practice, but I believe you really will get a feel for it. I respect your uninstallation though, not every game is made for every person, thank you anyway for giving it a shot. brianj22 Well-Known Member Dec 14, 2016 180 0 0 #14 brianj22, Jul 27, 2017 I do think the typical green to red meter for shot power would work better and look nicer here. The 1 - 100 scale for power isn't very intuitive. RedThumb Well-Known Member Mar 10, 2016 84 7 8 #15 RedThumb, Jul 27, 2017 Last edited: Jul 27, 2017 I just gave it a shot and played a couple of holes. There's always room for one more golf game, right? Here is, why I don't like it at all: First off the ball physics. I second everything that has been said about it. I don't want "to get used to it", because it just feels wrong. It looks lke the ball is hardly moving, yet it jumps out of the course or "floats" over the hole without the slightest wiggle. Second, at every other shot some tree or other part of the environment is blocking the view of the ball. Impossible to make a good shot this way and very bad design in the first place. As of now, I am deleting it. With reworked physics and without blocking the sight I might give it another try though. Gotters Well-Known Member Oct 27, 2016 114 31 28 #16 Gotters, Jul 27, 2017 I have played one round of 18 holes and would mark it as 'promising', so not insta deleting it but it has some niggles, that have all been mentioned. Ball physics are too slow and floaty, controls are a bit 'clunky' (especially close range putting). I think the floaty slow movement of the ball is part of the problem as a shot hasn't finished rolling when you try to play a shot, but its moving so slow you can't actually see it. That said despite what would sound ruinous issues, I quite enjoyed it Skall Well-Known Member Oct 25, 2009 500 60 28 #17 Skall, Jul 27, 2017 Thank you for this game! Hole 136 is crazily tough. I went from an overall score of -15 to +4 on that hole alone - really disheartening. Three consecutive slopes with no flat bits in between, straight onto revolving platforms! shallotgames Well-Known Member Patreon Gold Jul 15, 2017 57 18 8 http://shallotgames.com #20 shallotgames, Jul 28, 2017 Yep! Same holes for everyone! Haven't played that one myself, but it looks like a fun one (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
