Twitchy platformer that will make you say a lot of naughty words. Give it a try if you're one of the 24M people that didn't finish the first one. This is more approachable while still reaching high difficulty in the later levels. The levels are about the same length as the original, but they're each split into 3 stages so it's a lot easier to reach the end of each stage. There aren't any new mechanics and although the menu shows three worlds, there are only one and a half at the moment. World A has the usual twelve levels, but World B only has 6 so far and World C is also coming soon. That's 50% more content than the original started with, but it goes a lot quicker because of the checkpointing. It took me about 40 minutes to complete all levels: 244 deaths in World A (including about 10 from my 3-year old daughter's attempt and 120 on stage 12:2) and 27 on he first half of World B. Edit: just found the stars screen. 26:33 for World A (10:51 of which was Level 12) and 6:29 for the first part of World B. 19civciV Well-Known Member Apr 9, 2015 192 0 16 Level Designer, Social Media Marketing & Managemen Nantes, France http://www.twitter.com/Vicvic91 #4 19civciV, Jul 20, 2017 Very cool french game, definitively easier but that's better. Did you found any secrets ? Seems that I can avoid the final portal in some levels, but impossible to get any "secret zone" like in the original game. Marlon Bargh Active Member Patreon Silver Apr 7, 2015 29 0 1 #5 Marlon Bargh, Jul 20, 2017 The developer said that the entrance to the secret areas have been added, but the secret levels themselves have yet to be implemented and would come in an update shortly after launch. Speaking of which, can the developer give any information about when that may be as I can't wait to play them. Thanks brianj22 Well-Known Member Dec 14, 2016 180 0 0 #6 brianj22, Jul 22, 2017 This is perfect. It still has extremely tricky sections and I'm still only on world A. The first one was too brutal and since it was level based I just hit a wall where I was like f**k this. This is nice, I feel like I can enjoy the game now that progression doesn't require me to be a platforming savant. Marlon Bargh Active Member Patreon Silver Apr 7, 2015 29 0 1 #7 Marlon Bargh, Jul 28, 2017 Secret levels have been released! World A only for now though. Warning! One of them is very difficult and requires extremely precise timing, not to say that the others are any less challenging. Also, three new levels from world B, which are fairly straightforward but still pretty fun. Good luck! 19civciV Well-Known Member Apr 9, 2015 192 0 16 Level Designer, Social Media Marketing & Managemen Nantes, France http://www.twitter.com/Vicvic91 #8 19civciV, Jul 30, 2017 I found and got 2 secrets on world 3 and 5. Am I missing other ones ? I can't found any other one... neca Well-Known Member Apr 5, 2010 160 0 16 #9 neca, Jul 30, 2017 Levels 6 and 11 19civciV Well-Known Member Apr 9, 2015 192 0 16 Level Designer, Social Media Marketing & Managemen Nantes, France http://www.twitter.com/Vicvic91 #10 19civciV, Jul 30, 2017 Thanks for the tips ! How the hell can you get the secret in level 6 ? If I found where the star is, I can't jump to catch it. Impossible ahah I'm already fighting with the level 11 one, this final spike is killing me everytime ! smiley_u Well-Known Member Oct 4, 2013 48 0 6 #11 smiley_u, Aug 1, 2017 Ok - this is borderline frustrating and honestly bad game design. I'm talking about hidden star levels and more specifically level 6. I'm one of those players who did finish the first game. It was extremely challenging but fun. Initally when I first played this sequel I was disappointed as this game in comparison is not just slightly easier, it is a LOT easier. But when I learned about hidden levels (3,5,6 and 11) I saw that the challenge in completing these resembled the first game a lot. It took me a while to get 3, 5 and 11 bonuses completed - but I enjoyed the challenge. Level 6 on the other hand - it's not a challenge, it is like rolling a random number between 0 and 1000 and hope to get a 1000 (that's what the devs are talking about when they say "extremely precise" jump). You need to find that microsecond time instant when you need to jump. Did anyone complete this? Can the devs share their thoughts on design of that bonus level? Or at least provide some hints? neca Well-Known Member Apr 5, 2010 160 0 16 #12 neca, Aug 1, 2017 That star is a scam, you have to jump pixel perfectly in the spike and continue to other pixel perfect jumps to get the real exit!! It's insane, I know... 19civciV Well-Known Member Apr 9, 2015 192 0 16 Level Designer, Social Media Marketing & Managemen Nantes, France http://www.twitter.com/Vicvic91 #13 19civciV, Aug 2, 2017 I agree, a big DISLIKE for this secret. neca Well-Known Member Apr 5, 2010 160 0 16 #14 neca, Aug 3, 2017 It's actually easier than the secret exits of the first game. Yes, it requieres very precise jumping, but is doable. Try to jump full height about "1 Mr Jump" distance from the ledge before the spike and you'll get that pixel space needed to land. Takes practice but definitely achievable. grandpixel New Member Aug 17, 2017 1 0 0 #15 grandpixel, Aug 17, 2017 Lvl 6 secret not so bad.. First game, I completed everything up to World B, Level 12 (sans secret levels). I just started on B-12, and it's extreme - yet easier than the original game secret levels, which SEEM impossible. Mr. Jump S level 6 secret exit is very easy in comparison. No disrespect, but I have a hard time believing you completed the original game if you can't hit these 3-4 jumps. But then I just completed all 4 secret levels in Mr. Jump S World A in less than an hour, and kinda shocked I'm only the 17th person to do so - yet it's SO much easier than the original game. I think there are WAY fewer players than the original. RE: Hints - I can hit the first and second jumps just about every time. The third one is just a little shorter, harder to time because it's not a full jump, as is the last jump before the exit. First jump - take note of where the little dude is when you leave the ground, do a full jump. If you come up short, jump later next time. If you go over it, jump earlier. You'll get to where you can jump at the same moment each time. And make sure you press to jump again before you hit the platform next to the spike. Agreed. Not even close in difficulty to original game secret levels. Do the devs use this forum? I'm curious if there are statistics out there on how many people have completed certain levels, or distribution graphs on people getting to certain percentage marks on each level.
