A battle game wearing a puzzle game's clothing, Glyph Quest Chronicles tests your gameplay skills to the limit. Defeat the hordes of enemies facing you by sharpening your spell-casting, arming yourself for battle with armour and weapon upgrades, and employing the right items in the midst of combat. An exciting adventure featuring fantastic beasts, complex combos and more "just-one-more-go-ness" than you can possibly handle. * Battle your way across the land, slaying fearsome foes and learning the art of battle magic. * Master the system of Chains and Reversals to boost your damage and take down creatures far too powerful for mere acolytes. * Harvest icky stuff from monsters and turn it into upgrades for your equipment. Don't worry - we'll wash it first. * Level up, learn new spells including devastating Combos and powerful Summon magic. * Unravel the mysteries of the poorly explained advanced features such as Aftertouch, Familiar Breaks and the really obscure Pull Glyph. So what are you waiting for? Download it today! Right now in fact. Go on - we dare you... Happy Questing! * Game requires an online connection to play unless adverts have been removed. Great! I've been waiting for this one for a while. I'm curious to see how the IAP was implemented. I just started Ticket To Earth, but this is next on my list for sure. Repulsa Well-Known Member Jul 3, 2015 1,584 81 48 #3 Repulsa, Jul 19, 2017 I won't be downloading as I don't do f2p but I wish the developers luck with their decision to go f2p with this one. Please update compability for the previous version! PBSNellie Well-Known Member Jul 7, 2013 1,381 168 63 Southern CA #4 PBSNellie, Jul 19, 2017 I liked the first two games but this version is much more polished. They also moved the match area to the bottom of the screen which makes it much easier to play - I don't have to reach for the match area. I played this in soft launch and really enjoyed it more than the previous versions. For those reasons, I decided to splurge on the patron pack (mainly for the infinite mana). It also wants me to replay levels early on to gain more experience. Ehhhhh.... This may be fun for new players, but honestly it doesn't feel different enough from the previous game to make me want to stick with it. Seems geared towards people who never played before. I know, during beta, the devs were talking about spending a certain amount of money and then unlocking infinite energy. 20 dollars is so steep. I love these games. And this one looks and feels great. But I don't know if I can drop 20 bucks on it just to get infinite energy. Diaboliq Well-Known Member Apr 4, 2013 49 0 6 #10 Diaboliq, Jul 19, 2017 $20? I love this game, but that was a terrible choice. I'm sad I really wanted to play this one Repulsa Well-Known Member Jul 3, 2015 1,584 81 48 #11 Repulsa, Jul 19, 2017 Agreed! I did actually download this since I loved the previous one so much but the monetization is seriously wonky. Bulk Paint Well-Known Member Jan 14, 2014 404 0 0 Brighton http://glyphquest.com/ #12 Bulk Paint, Jul 19, 2017 You can, if you wish, play the game entirely for free. Nothing is making you pay any money. We don't do push notifications. We don't do pop ups telling you to buy stuff or try any psychological trickery. This is probably going to bite us in the arse in the long term. Buying things for real money does several things: First, it all counts towards Patron Mode, so don't worry about $20 up front - everything you spend will add up (although the Patron Pack does work out cheaper and more efficient). Second, just picking up the Loyalty Card will greatly reduce the amount of down-time due to a lack of mana. It reduces the number of quests for a freebie from 10 to 6. Given that your mana bar holds enough for 4 quests, you can see how you can keep that run going quite well especially since you can also get a refresh by watching an advert instead of paying gems. I mean, I could try the "How much is a pair of cinema tickets?" argument or others like it, but the long and the short of it is that we've tried it the other ways - shareware ("This is bullshit! You said this game was free and now you want me to pay?") and premium (8k lifetime sales and all manner of hellfury when we had the gall to put it on sale) - and they weren't enough to keep us going. So this is what we're left with. F2P. Even so, we're still trying to be nice about it - no push notifications, no psychological tricks, no bait-and-switch, a cap on spending. All of these things actively hamper an F2P model so we'd probably be much better off financially by not including them. So how about it? $20 too steep? Try it out for free! Then why not show your love for a struggling indie developer family and just stump up for the Starter Pack instead? That's about the same as a coffee these days and we really won't mind if your budget doesn't stretch to the full monty. Bulk Paint Well-Known Member Jan 14, 2014 404 0 0 Brighton http://glyphquest.com/ #13 Bulk Paint, Jul 19, 2017 It does seem a bit harder doesn't it? The main difference with this version and the previous ones gameplay-wise is the introduction of the Pull Glyph. This is something that we've really never explained (it's coming as part of the Glyph Quest Academy videos) but it enables you to 'steer' the board to your liking. To always ensure that the board is valid after you've cast a spell, we swap one of the glyphs that you've just used to a copy of one of the neighbours. This means that you'll always be able to cast another spell. In the first two games, the glyph we chose was random. In Chronicles, the glyph that gets swapped is the first glyph you chose and it changes into whatever glyph is on the opposite side to the direction you dragged your finger in. Hence "pull" glyph. This gives you plenty more power to extend your Chains out - which, as I'm sure you remember, is the key to taking down trickier opponents - certainly before you unlock Combo spells (should happen after the first Boss Battle). stubbieoz Well-Known Member Jun 23, 2015 1,880 358 83 Male Grey haired gamer NSW Australia #14 stubbieoz, Jul 19, 2017 Last edited: Jul 19, 2017 Deleted post.... developer explained my concern. neumanator Well-Known Member Mar 7, 2015 61 0 6 #15 neumanator, Jul 19, 2017 I'm also confused why the 20 dollar patron pack doesn't come with the coin doubler.
