This is PlaySides first premium Tower Defense title & the gameplay is hard and challenging! This game has been a labour of love for us as we are huge tower defense fans. We hope we have done the genre proud! Below are some videos, we will keep this thread updated throughout launch! One quick suggestion is to have the game play in either landscape orientation on my iPad (auto-rotate). junkyardheart Well-Known Member May 24, 2012 99 1 8 #6 junkyardheart, Jul 19, 2017 I second this, the locked orientation is very annoying. Otherwise I'm liking this game quite a bit. ginkomanc Well-Known Member Dec 26, 2013 56 0 0 #7 ginkomanc, Jul 19, 2017 Looks like it's right up my street. Every time i bought a "premium" game with iaps described as "unnecessary" and "just to speed things up" the iaps were not as described let alone some devs after a short period of time made the game free with the existing iaps. Maybe i was unlucky with my purchases but i will wait and see how this goes. Looks beautiful though from the pictures and the trailer i saw. orangecan Well-Known Member Aug 9, 2011 2,000 150 63 #9 orangecan, Jul 19, 2017 Similar view here - if it didn't have any iap I'd be all over it lack a rash, I love a good premium TD but with iaps I'm very much on the fence with this one. Defard Well-Known Member May 25, 2011 322 15 18 UK #10 Defard, Jul 19, 2017 Really boring TD (spent 25 mins playing one level mostly on fast forward only to die 1 wave before the end - wave 59!) and with crappy IAP that looks very necessary to me. sakara214ever Well-Known Member May 10, 2012 1,262 168 63 #11 sakara214ever, Jul 19, 2017 Hm as for the boring part i think it depends on each persons taste. But as for the iap it looks like it is as i was afraid of. Thanks for the feedback i won't bother anymore with this game. loox Well-Known Member Feb 9, 2011 76 0 6 #12 loox, Jul 19, 2017 Can't resist this. Gonna try. Will be back with some impressions. TempleRacer Well-Known Member Oct 10, 2010 221 0 0 #13 TempleRacer, Jul 19, 2017 Maybe should have read other reviews before purchasing.... anyhow, I like the look and am eager to try. I am curious, was this made in Unity? How many on your dev team? Thanks! TempleRacer Well-Known Member Oct 10, 2010 221 0 0 #14 TempleRacer, Jul 20, 2017 It's a nice game, I am enjoying it. One small suggestion, allow the player (when wave is active), to move camera about, rotate, zoom in etc. TempleRacer Well-Known Member Oct 10, 2010 221 0 0 #15 TempleRacer, Jul 20, 2017 MajorCritique... I am enjoying the game itself.! Great mechanics, excellent art direction etc.... however I am currently on Wave 40 of a single level... I am getting very bored of this level. When I went to return to main menu I am told all progress will be lost. How many waves are in a freaking level!? Son of Anarchy Well-Known Member Oct 5, 2015 717 130 43 Male Shadow Runner Australia #16 Son of Anarchy, Jul 20, 2017 Last edited: Jul 20, 2017 Overall this could be a great TD to add to the many games in the genre on the AppStore however... I'm going to try to be constructive as there is a really good game here, it is just held back by a few flaws that the developers could easily fix in an update. 60 waves is far too many, as others have pointed out, they either get bored or run out of lives at the last round, wasting all the time spent on the level. Yes you unlock stuff slowly even on a failed level, but starting again by committing to 60 waves is a chore instead of a challenge especially when you know you're likely to fail again. Which brings me to my next point. The game is too hard. As a reference point, I've played every Premium TD on the AppStore to completion. I have a feeling the devs are too close to the game, it feels like you're being pushed to buy iap just to complete a level to get anywhere. The 'special powers' are ALWAYS on the screen and they cost way too much consumable iap currency to use. And activating them accidentally is too easy. Feels like a trap to waste hard earned currency. I bought the game because it stated that it was Premium. The game is NOT Premium. Having consumable iap gems upwards of $60 is not a premium game, why are you saying otherwise? And yes, I feel they are needed in the current build just to progress. There are a lot of towers (which is great!) but upgrading a tower costs 200-300+ (consumable iap) gems and you get a reward of 30 for doing so? Really? There's more but I'm starting to get too negative here. I really want to like the game but too many things are holding me back right now. I suggest the following... -reduce three star completion to 30 waves with 60 waves being 'hard' mode or something. -'special powers' can't cost consumable iap currency in a premium game, that's just ridiculous. -game needs a difficulty rebalancing if you're going to keep things 'as is', players feel like they're getting nowhere fast. -towers should not cost iap consumable currency to upgrade in a premium game, that's just ridiculous. I went to the trouble of writing all this because I see a great game here and I want it to be better, I don't want to see the game go free or get a heap of one star ratings, but that's what will happen unfortunately if you don't make some changes. shaymon Well-Known Member Sep 3, 2013 278 1 18 #17 shaymon, Jul 20, 2017 Thanks SoA for the detailed post. I love TD games. Definitely my favorite Genre. However, watching the dev video and seeing how long the levels take really turned me off. I want to spend 10 minutes max on a level. Now seeing that tower upgrades cost iap currency that you get in game very slowly- that sealed the deal. It really does look like a great game but those 2 things are just too big for me to hop in. I will wait for a patch that hopefully comes. I still think someone needs to come out with a TD game where creeps drop random items that you use to gear up heroes and towers. Totally rng with different tiers of quality. Normal/rare/epic/etc. make it so you need to grind for the gear to get better upgrades and beat the harder levels. Geta-Ve Well-Known Member Apr 4, 2011 257 0 16 Canada http://www.mooviewgames.com/ #18 Geta-Ve, Jul 20, 2017 This. I won't ask for a refund, simply because the game itself is very well put together and has incredible charm. But the IAP is in direct opposition with the price tag. A complete turn off. On top of that the time investment needed to unlock towers is ludicrous. Especially when you have to repeat 60+ waves just for a small CHANCE of gettin the appropriate drop. Strip the IAP or rethink your price tag. Taeles Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Aug 5, 2011 1,253 37 48 #19 Taeles, Jul 20, 2017 Which way is it locked?
