I wasn't expecting much due to the App Store rating, but it actually is completely fine. It works great on my iPhone 6, I'm not sure where the crashes are coming from for other users. It looks great, and I was surprised considering it's played in vertical. It reminds me of how FF Mobius looks, in a way. The translation is well done, and I don't feel awkward reading it. My only very small gripe is a lack of English voice acting, but whatever. If you like the traditional turn based RPG, try this out. Smylee New Member Apr 7, 2015 3 0 1 #3 Smylee, Jul 5, 2017 I've played it for over half a year now (been out in Asia server for a while) and I'll say that if you enjoy the traditional turn based RPG and aren't completely turned off by the typical freemium model, it's a pretty nice game to pick up. Over time, I've managed to play different kinds of team setups and they're pretty generous with the way they give you free stuff (if you can complete the quests). The late game stuff can get kind of grindy as with other freemium games. I'm not exactly f2p but I've spent maybe $15 over half a year and can still maintain somewhat competitive in different areas. Overall, it's a pretty fun game to play but the pay to win aspect might just turn off some people. triptych Well-Known Member Jul 29, 2012 203 0 0 #4 triptych, Jul 5, 2017 I'm playing this on android and it's pretty fun if you like this style of heroes charge kinda games. Tychaeus Well-Known Member Sep 23, 2015 572 9 18 #5 Tychaeus, Jul 10, 2017 Man, I can not..believe how absolutely addicted to this game I am. I alllllways see ftp games like this and DL them with very low expectations, and usually delete before I can even finish the first mission of the game. I have finished the normal campaign, halfway through heroic, and I just only downloaded it on July 7 or 8...somewhere around there. Our guild just reached rank 5 which means we can start co op raids...which reward epic set gear...this game is like....WoW and Final Fantasy Tactics Advance had a baby with the greedy ugly mobile gaming prostitute on the game progression crack buy corner of the nerd gaming hood... I saw it happen, now im smoking the crack and I cant stop. Amenbrother Well-Known Member Jun 24, 2011 6,659 7 38 #6 Amenbrother, Jul 10, 2017 LOL maybe I should download this! Tychaeus Well-Known Member Sep 23, 2015 572 9 18 #8 Tychaeus, Jul 10, 2017 Oh, also just fyi...there are some pieces of the gear you get that change appearance like cloaks and your weapons/off-hands etc, but you also change a classes appearance through the job progression mechanics...seriously the gameplay IS fun, but what is the most fun about the game is the progression systems which have just been done so well you wanna play juuust 5 more minutes to see what your hero looks like after his upgrade lol. Surprisingly, the rewards and every currency in the game are quite available and accessible in plenty, I just can't get over how WELL these guys designed their core mechanics/progression systems...its done A'rally ralllllly whale k? Bellarik New Member Jan 24, 2017 2 0 0 #9 Bellarik, Jul 11, 2017 I have been playing most of the day and I'm loving it. I highly recommend it for the mobile RPG fans looking for a high quality game. It just does sooo many things right. L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #10 L.Lawliet, Jul 11, 2017 Is this an online only type game? I do see PvP but I'm curious. I've been looking for a game with good quality that is similar to Final Fantasy Tactics but I don't play online games save a couple. Tychaeus Well-Known Member Sep 23, 2015 572 9 18 #11 Tychaeus, Jul 11, 2017 If you are looking for combat system similar to FFT...this is pretty stripped down in comparison...my comedic...yet absolutely accurate..description above is a good indicator of what you get. Yes its online only, but like someone else just stated above....this game does SO many things right. Its the first gacha kinda game that really just seems like a shady money grab that I tried and stuck with and even cant damn well pull my self away from....maybe ever...at least in 4-5 years...this is a rare gem...and probably unrecognized and underrated...at least in North America. 16bitAindo Well-Known Member Mar 15, 2014 67 0 0 #12 16bitAindo, Jul 11, 2017 Last edited: Jul 11, 2017 The game just asks me to restart after the first time I select the language I want to use. Restarting the app does nothing so I'm unable to play at the moment. Anyone else had this issue? Tychaeus Well-Known Member Sep 23, 2015 572 9 18 #13 Tychaeus, Jul 11, 2017 Hrm, no I sure haven't. Thats odd. Does it even give ya a chance to chose a server? Try selecting a new or low population server and/or re-installing the app. What device are ya using? Its gotta be pretty hardware intense as its a pretty graphically nice game. baldeagle86 Well-Known Member Dec 21, 2013 737 0 0 #14 baldeagle86, Jul 12, 2017 Last edited: Jul 13, 2017 Just tried and have good initial impressions, what are other games like this to try out? Possible to finish this without purchases? strivemind Well-Known Member Aug 11, 2010 2,784 2 38 Designer Ottawa, Canada http://www.strivemind.com/ #16 strivemind, Aug 27, 2017 I've finished all of the story content without IAP, and am siting with more than a full team of 5* characters with decent gear. Special event quests are proving to be hard htough. Valiant Force is pretty generous with giving away it's premium currency. Of course, you'll never match up to the whales, but that's typical for most freemium games. Plus, with some strategy, you can still do well in the arena. chronosz Well-Known Member May 24, 2016 140 0 0 #17 chronosz, Aug 29, 2017 Does this game have a stamina or energy system? Or you dont have to play in short bursts? I cant stand energy system games. strivemind Well-Known Member Aug 11, 2010 2,784 2 38 Designer Ottawa, Canada http://www.strivemind.com/ #18 strivemind, Aug 29, 2017 Yes. Like typical freemium games, there is an energy system that limits your daily play time. There is also a separate energy system for PVP. On top of that, there is numerous daily event quests that can be played a limited number of times but at no cost of energy. chronosz Well-Known Member May 24, 2016 140 0 0 #19 chronosz, Aug 29, 2017 K, thx Cronk Well-Known Member Jan 22, 2013 620 0 0 #20 Cronk, Aug 30, 2017 It's a solid squad-based title. Very polished. Dunno how endgame is but so far I'm getting a lot of mileage out of it. Dropped a dollar on a newbie package to support devs, but progress goes smoothly enough to not require it imo.
