"App of the week" - ApfelPage "4 out of 5 - Starsceptre is a really cool retro game that will entertain you for several hours, and offers high replay-value" DPadJoy Game trailer: https://youtu.be/DtDvO7CZcHk With newly redesigned controls, Starsceptre is a pixelated retro shoot ’em up using touch to shoot your way through the game, testing your nerves and reactions to their limits. With auto fire ALWAYS ON, you can use a second touch to stop firing, enabling you to wait for weapons to drop or to shoot only when you need to. As the pilot, you awake suddenly in the cockpit of your Starfighter to find your short-term memory missing and your planet shattered into two halves. Accompanied by a mysterious stowaway who wields the Starsceptre - a magical device that rewinds time - you must battle your way to defeating the evil Draxses. Can you stop other planets from suffering the same fate? Looking like one of those 8bit or 16 bit pixel games you loved as a kid, you'll relive 80s & 90s arcade memories on the go via your iPhone or iPad. And like all the classics, this game is easy to play, but difficult to master. I'm biased (I know) but having spent time building the tilt system to work the best it can, I thought I'd share this little video I made showing how it really plays. By the way it is hard at first, but then like all new things, learning a new skill becomes rewarding. Sorry to say I don't like the look of the constant thumb mashing. I realise it's authentic but I need auto-fire these days. I've found it hard to get started on my own project. Regarding Starsceptre a pause button would be nice. As you mentioned it's pretty difficult at first. I do like the art style, music, sound effects, etc. I has a 100% authentic feel to it. LordShad0wz Well-Known Member Nov 19, 2014 4,280 1 38 #16 LordShad0wz, Jun 26, 2017 I'm disabled. I have severe disc herniations throughout my neck and spine and just had major surgery on my neck. I simply cannot do all the tilting. The thing is I really love shootem ups and love supporting indie devs. Would it be possible to put in classic controls as an option for people like myself so I could buy and play the game? If not I completely understand. Billy sugimulm Well-Known Member Aug 28, 2010 2,457 46 48 The last time zone for iOS game releases :( #17 sugimulm, Jun 26, 2017 Get well soon Billy! I'll be looking into a classic controls to see if it's going to work with my game - the fast response needed to play might mean the onscreen joysticks might not cut it, but I'll let you know the minute I have an approach that might well work. Thank you for your feedback and fingers crossed I get something working well! Hope your op recovery goes well. Best, Rich (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
