There are some things I like right away like the weather changing and the sounds etc I love how it brings the game to life and it's just nice to listen to while playing. if you like games like Civilization then this may interest you as it's in that style but this is heavily focused on Early Egypt which is different and very good. At that point, I sent Egypt into the background to read TA and some other stuff. When I went back to the game, all three savegames were from ~1:15-am. So I just lost 2 hours progress; and I was on such a great roll, extremely frustrating. @clarusvictoria: I can't even guess what happened here, so I don't have repro steps for you. The UI is fine, it just needs more explainations to do. The game is not hard to pick up, and the setting is unquie, but winning is another issue. Disclaimer: even though I had "early access", I end up paying to show my appreciation. Keep up the good work. I am a dummy when it comes to Civ-sic games so I cannot comment. IOSgamer1980 Well-Known Member Nov 6, 2015 432 2 18 #18 IOSgamer1980, Jun 2, 2017 Been playing non-stop since my last post. I actually thought the game was too easy like I was on a roll or something, then I failed a bunch of victory conditions and ended my game with a 9/33 score and rank of "farmer." Ahahaha! This was with all of the initial pre-game circumstances set to the easiest options too. I will say this isn't much like Civilization to the extent that I initially thought, but it's a good sort of 4X on rails game that feels almost like a puzzle game, if that makes any sense. Nullzone ð® Spam Police ð Jul 12, 2013 3,669 79 48 Male #19 Nullzone, Jun 2, 2017 @currymutton: Nah, no flames, I actually agree with you. Egypt's UI *is* better than KoDP's in many ways. Now, onto my UI nitpicks: 1) Dragging a worker from his working spot back into the pool is rather tedious, even more so when he is farther away from the pool - say, all the way in the upper left. Sometimes I don't place him right on first try, and have to grab him again and drag him back to the pool. Suggestion: Double-tapping a worker sends him back to the pool. 2) After saving a game, it sends me back to the menu, and I have to hit "continue" to get back to the game itself. Suggestion: After saving, skip the menu and go straight back to the game interface. 3) I find it really hard to distinguish between Discoveries I already have, and those that I still need to research. The colors aren't different enough. Suggestion: Either make the colors more differentiated; or give every researched Discovery a colored border around it, say a muted gold tone. I'd prefer the second option. 4) Same goes for the Buildings. Here too the color difference between stuff I already built and ones that I can build but didn't yet is not pronounced enough. Same as above, I suggest to give every completed building a golden border. The grey coloring for things I cannot build or discover yet is perfectly fine, though. It is very easy to distinguish from the greenish/yellowish background of things that are already done. That's the way it should be for "can be built" vs. "already built" as well. 5) For events like "Build the Temple of the Falcon" it would be nice if I can look up the needed resources during all the turns between announcement ("will begin shortly") and the actual event starting. Right now, I only get to see the notification once, which is a tad annoying. Suggestion: just keep it showing in the notification queue on the right till the event starts. No need to make the icon disappear after you clicked it. Oh, and a turn countdown would be nice too. Just show the number of turns left till start as a small number on the icon, like you do with the events shown in the left queue - e.g. the "Cow Blessing" or "Greening of Saharah". Also, about their Bronze Age game: It's a completely different beast, much more simplistic. Basically, there you just have a handful of places (like Hunting, Farming, Soldiers) where you assign workers in ever increasing numbers. Nice little timewaster for an hour or two. But if you expect something like the Egypt game, it is not. Can not give it an unequivocally "recommended" in good conscience, especially when compared to this one here. But, I do not regret buying it: had fun for two or three hours, more than worth the few bucks it cost.
