Could be good based on my couple of minutes tryout. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 704 113 #3 anthony78, May 24, 2017 Was excited to see this as a huge fan of the original but disappointed to see that it looks nothing like it. I kind of liked the set tracks in this kind of game. Might give it a try later anyway. rIcHrAnDoM Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Nov 17, 2008 7,936 30 38 Steelworker/Welder Indiana, USA #4 rIcHrAnDoM, May 24, 2017 I was disappointed too.. at first. Once you play for a bit, and realize that each car unlocks specific challenges within the game environment there is more and more reason to keep playing. Very neat way to incorporate things into the game. That being said, the original was so awesome! MetaGonzo Well-Known Member May 7, 2009 1,459 271 83 #5 MetaGonzo, May 24, 2017 I was coming back to say it's in the "gets old fast" category but shall persevere on rich's recommendation. rIcHrAnDoM Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Nov 17, 2008 7,936 30 38 Steelworker/Welder Indiana, USA #6 rIcHrAnDoM, May 24, 2017 It's still nowhere near as deep as the original, but there are layers to unlock. LordShad0wz Well-Known Member Nov 19, 2014 4,280 1 38 #7 LordShad0wz, May 25, 2017 I'm disappointed. The original is so much better. When I saw the icon and the new game I got so excited. I've been playing for an hour and this just isn't get away 2. They should have named it something else. Billy orangecan Well-Known Member Aug 9, 2011 2,000 150 63 #8 orangecan, May 25, 2017 Well it's Ok - so far nowhere near as good as the first though. I don't like the fact that there's no information about the challenges - for example one of the early ones is streetlight challenge to knock a certain number down but there's no indication of how many, ditto the get air challenge. Also unless I'm missing something the only way to see what the challenges actually are is to go into the main car menu? I'm also finding the view slightly too zoomed in for my taste. Going to give it a bit longer see if I get into it a bit more but so far it's a meh from me. EightRooks Well-Known Member Jan 13, 2012 627 0 0 UK #9 EightRooks, May 25, 2017 Yeah, there's some fun to be had here, but it's all a bit too cheery and bland for my taste, and it may be more forgiving than Pako but in many ways it's not as good. Car physics just don't feel that fun to me, and you really can't destroy that many things - I keep ramming tons of stuff I think I ought to be able to plow through only to find I can't. Crash Club had a bigger world than any Pako level, AFAIK, and still got that part right. On first impressions at least RG2 just feels uncomfortably like Smash Cops in all the wrong ways - a game which seems to have been specifically designed to stop you feeling empowered and prevent you having any fun as quickly as possible (enemies who are all faster and more powerful than you and never stop coming, tons of stuff you'd like to do but can't, jumps you can't clear, stuff you can't destroy, a world which seems big but isn't really that open etc., etc.). It's polished, sure, and hey, there's nothing to stop you playing as much as you like if you're enjoying yourself, but I don't think I'll be bothering. There's better racing out there on mobile, better destructible environments, better art design and better collectathons, so why would I want to bother with this? Chq Well-Known Member Jul 20, 2013 446 61 28 #10 Chq, May 25, 2017 I like it. It reminds me of Smuggler's Run 2. ☝️# Luckithroe Well-Known Member Feb 27, 2010 123 0 0 #11 Luckithroe, May 25, 2017 Yeah this is fun IMO. Sure I won't be spending hours at a time playing it. Maybe not even 15 minutes at a time (I can be a little OCD with my games), but I generally don't do super long jam sessions on phone/iPad games anyways. OutdatedGamer New Member Sep 18, 2013 4 0 1 #12 OutdatedGamer, May 28, 2017 I don't get the general dislike for this game, Ive been having a blast playing it. I prefer the arcade feel of it over the harsh and IMO cheap feel of Pako that so many people on here seem to enjoy. My only real complaint is rolling for a car and getting a duplicate happens much too often. Aside from that I'm loving the game and it's level of polish. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 704 113 #13 anthony78, May 28, 2017 I think the dislike is from fans of the original, including myself. This is nothing like it and I adored that game. Really, REALLY wish they had done a true sequel in the same vein. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
