Is in not procedurally generated? I'm not getting very far yet but it's the same every time so far. Maybe it's just the beginning that's "set", like Altos. JeffWeber Well-Known Member Mar 16, 2012 186 0 0 Appleton, Wi http://www.farseergames.com #4 JeffWeber, May 10, 2017 Yes, the controls are a bit less forgiving than typical skiing games. Just Ski attempts to keep the physics a little more true to life and that takes some getting use to. It is rewarding once you get a feel for it though. I encourage you to stick with it. Slide thumb up to get some spin going into a jump. In the air, slide your thumb down to crouch and spin faster or up to extend and spin slower. -Jeff JeffWeber Well-Known Member Mar 16, 2012 186 0 0 Appleton, Wi http://www.farseergames.com #5 JeffWeber, May 10, 2017 Just Ski is not procedural generated... and it's not endless. Your goal: get to the end. Some things to note: The sky changes color the further you get: Red, orange, yellow...etc. The color of the sun marks your furthest progress. This isn't arcady or forgiving, for sure. The real race is this: - Will it click for me... or will I delete it in frustration? JeffWeber Well-Known Member Mar 16, 2012 186 0 0 Appleton, Wi http://www.farseergames.com #7 JeffWeber, May 10, 2017 50 times is a bit much. Thanks for sticking with it that long. Make sure you keep your thumb in the vertical range indicated by the little green dot on the start screen. Then, in the air, really pay attention to your spin and extend or crouch as needed to line up for the landing. It takes some finesse, but it's truly something you can get good at. Good luck. I eventually managed to get past a couple of jumps, but it felt more flukey than skill. I love the simplicity of the graphics and minimalistic sound effects, but the controls / timing is too hard for me. Just wipeout! Come back to it sometime if you get bored. -Jeff Sexy Pirate Well-Known Member Sep 29, 2014 889 0 0 Call centre / Parent Newcastle England #10 Sexy Pirate, May 10, 2017 Ooo been waiting for this off to buy it now. Sexy Pirate Well-Known Member Sep 29, 2014 889 0 0 Call centre / Parent Newcastle England #11 Sexy Pirate, May 10, 2017 Well that was fun for 15 mins -_- glad it was only 99p because it got boring real quick. Like an old 80's game having to start right from the beginning every time you crash so your going over the same jumps over and over again. Some kind of endless procedurally generated mode would be better imo. As I loved krashlander and like the physics of the game but not the repetition. I'll probably pick it up for another 5mins later on but that's only because I've paid for it. If it had of been free I would have deleted it after a couple mins. Just my honest opinion. And yeah it's frustrating getting started. Keep at it, it gets easier. Glad you like the minimal style. slamraman Well-Known Member Patreon Gold Aug 27, 2011 2,511 8 38 #19 slamraman, May 10, 2017 I've had this for a week or so and have to say that I love it. I'm terrible at it and only play in very small chunks - mainly as I've just restarted Punch Quest - but I keep going back and actually find that when I go back I'm a little better. The controls haven't exactly clicked but I now find I have more control. I love the look, the style, the whole minimal but beautiful feel of it - and some of the landings really do look as if they hurt. I hope people stick with or or come back to it. I will complete it at some point, I just need to find some of that dogged determination that I had in the eighties. That's the hardest part with iOS games as there are just too many. Keeping this on my homescreen for the forseeable though, Jeff. Good luck with it.
