Very functional UI, a sparse but slick aestethic, and most importantly exceptional mechanics, good strategic variety and depth. I had to INSTANTLY buy both of the expansions ASAP and love the additional mechanics they add to the game. -The Gathering Storm (Exp #1): This expansion adds the concept of goals. These side objectives you can indulge in for some bonus points or ignore completely at your peril to just dominate the old fashioned way. -Rebels vs. Imperium (Exp #2): This expansion's main new tweak is the ability to actually invade and take over other players' military worlds. While the use of these expansions in your game is completely optional, of course, I think you have to include Exp #1 if you want to use Exp #2.
