I was gonna get this for Xbox One, but I guess I'll get it my Ipad now. Sweet!! yankeeblue000 Well-Known Member Aug 29, 2016 644 36 28 #5 yankeeblue000, Apr 27, 2017 Is this riddled with ad's? What is the deal with the letter-box view? So it's not full screen? AppUnwrapper Well-Known Member Oct 26, 2011 4,062 3 0 http://www.appunwrapper.com/escape-games/ #6 AppUnwrapper, Apr 27, 2017 There are no ads. Why would you think there are ads? I think they just didn't optimize it for the full iPad screen since it's ported from PC. I didn't try it on iPhone because it doesn't seem like something that would be great on a small screen, but it's probably full screen there. Unless I'm misunderstanding this quote. There could be ad's. I'm probably wrong, though. Anyway, I hope I'm wrong & I hope they optimize this for Ipad soon. I was just about to pick this up, but it's pretty big so I have to clear out some space first. I was going to pick this up for Xbox One, but I rather get it for my Ipad for a fraction of the price How is it so far, btw?? AppUnwrapper Well-Known Member Oct 26, 2011 4,062 3 0 http://www.appunwrapper.com/escape-games/ #9 AppUnwrapper, Apr 27, 2017 Ah ok. I didn't read all that and I don't even think I had to agree to a privacy statement at the beginning. Not that I recall, anyway. And haven't seen any ads. That would break the immersion. I doubt full iPad resolution is ever coming. It's video. They recorded it in that resolution. Can't really expect it to fill the screen. There's black bars at the top and bottom, but many PC ports do this. As for the game itself, it's a bit slow-going so far. Thought it would be more gripping. Also more interactive. Her Story/Contradiction it is not, but I'm still hoping it will pick up. mzinn Well-Known Member Jan 5, 2014 770 0 16 #10 mzinn, Apr 27, 2017 Wow. I'm all in. Hurry up weekend I have plans for you!! However there is minimal interactivity and it's stretching it to call it a "game". Long stretches of FMV, with only occasional button presses required David1953 Well-Known Member May 26, 2013 476 40 28 #14 David1953, Apr 27, 2017 Is there an option to enable subtitles in this game? I see a "settings" option in the first part of AppUnwrapper's walk through, but no subtitles in her post, and I don't want to watch more since I don't want to see spoilers ahead of time. I have a suggestion, and I hope that I'm not asking too much. If someone posts a video of a game in action, would it be too much trouble to enable subtitles if they're available, or at least show if they're available in the game settings. I would appreciate it, and I'm sure that others who are hearing impaired would as well. That would really help me to arrive at a decision whether to purchase a game that I see that looks interesting. metalwastebasket Well-Known Member Jan 5, 2017 161 55 28 #15 metalwastebasket, Apr 27, 2017 Can't post any video, but yes...there are subtitles in the game. David1953 Well-Known Member May 26, 2013 476 40 28 #16 David1953, Apr 27, 2017 Thanks for your reply, metalwastebasket, good to know. For now, this one will go on my wish list. The $5.49 Canadian price, plus an extra $1 in tax, is a bit steep for a game that lasts an hour or so, and I'm a bit concerned about the privacy issue as well. On a side note, I notice that AppUnwrapper's website is no longer working, at least not today. I get a "403 error, permission denied" error, if I try to access her site. Her site was working as recently as a couple of days ago, when I was looking for a walkthrough of another game. projectmoonlightcafe Well-Known Member Oct 26, 2010 296 0 0 #17 projectmoonlightcafe, Apr 27, 2017 Oh I miss Phantasmagoria.... Trying to find out what's going on. It's still early in the morning here. As for the subtitles, I turned them on like two seconds later in the video, if you watch a little bit more. I missed that I had to "Apply" the settings the first time. David1953 Well-Known Member May 26, 2013 476 40 28 #19 David1953, Apr 27, 2017 Thanks for answering, AppUnwrapper, and I'm relieved to know that it's not just me experiencing issues with your website. That "permission denied" error is an odd one, and hopefully, the fix will be an easy one. I apologize for not watching your video long enough to see where you activated the subtitles. I never like to watch too much of any walthrough if there's any chance that I will purchase a game. Also, what made things confusing was that the Steam store does not have the subtitles option checked for this game, hence my earlier concern that the game may not have them. However, the Steam store has been wrong before. AppUnwrapper Well-Known Member Oct 26, 2011 4,062 3 0 http://www.appunwrapper.com/escape-games/ #20 AppUnwrapper, Apr 27, 2017 No worries! I went looking for those subtitles right away because I missed some of the dialogue between him and his mother. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
