I really wanted to like this game but it felt somewhat clunky compared to other mobas. Even for there being no gold or creep score, moving and using abilities was somewhat 'off' sometimes, even with a great connection. Most of my matches the main strategy was to just teamfight in lane until you get the advantage, people rarely used the jungle and jungle buffs didn't seem to make a major difference. I know the game just came out but hero diversity was pretty bad because unlocking other heros besides the 3 starters cost a lot of in game currency. That being said I will continue to follow the game, perhaps my experience was because not enough people were playing it. nodoctors Well-Known Member Jul 24, 2009 1,212 28 48 #9 nodoctors, Mar 9, 2017 Last edited: Mar 9, 2017 This game breaks my heart. I'm loving the gameplay so far, and I might actually prefer this to Vainglory, which just doesn't work as well on the phone when compared to tablet play. But the moment you look at the store, the gem costs, the ability to power up characters...Why? The game is so good, what I want is there. But the prices are incredibly unreasonable, even for a modern day free to play game. On top of this we have yet another game that offers multi-tier subscriptions, the next hottest thing to take over the hilariously amoral freemium scene since Clash Royale's app store consuming "cards in games that aren't actually card games at all solely as an excuse to sell you bullcrap RNG based booster packs/chests." You were the one for me Planet of Heroes. But you can't take my money at these prices. I absolutely want to give you money, I'm fine with the model you chose for this type of genre. I, like many, have given hundreds to League of Legends. You're not League of Legends, I wish you wouldn't try to pull this stuff out the gate. I'll keep an eye on the app from time to time to see how things shake down, because I'm really feeling the missed opportunity for a greater community for this game that clearly had a lot of love and time spent on it. I feel like this moba deserved a little better. I still recommend that everybody check this out regardless, to see how they personally feel about the game. There's definitely good stuff in there. Fast Forward Member Aug 2, 2016 13 0 0 Collective Bear Wrestling Moscow, Russia https://moba.my.com #10 Fast Forward, Mar 9, 2017 Hey everyone, Thanks for the kind words about our game so far! We really hope to hit a nerve here with designing a Moba that is only simplified enough for playing it on the go or in between your PC Mobas (or solely if you don't have time for those anymore). I'd like to address to address our Oceania friend first: Our matchmaking works based on distance to different battle servers around the globe. We have a meta server that does all the fancy routing calculation and issues rewards and manages your friend list, that is based in Amsterdam. You see that ping thereto in the main menu, which some players confuse with the gameplay ping. And for the gameplay itself, we have battle servers in Amsterdam, Virginia, San Jose, Sao Paolo, Seoul and Singapore - and newly since this week we added Mumbai, Hong Kong, Beijing and look to open another one in the Arab region, possibly near the Cairo interchange (MEX). So that being said, you will be preferably matched on the Singapore server (for New Zealanders) and if there are not enough players currently searching, you're transferred to one of the other regions. That scenario can result in higher ping of course, but hopefully should be a non-issue very soon due to player influx. Another topic is the pricing. As you see, in the item mall we are only selling stuff which you either can obtain by just playing without paying anything, or its pure vanity - skins. For example, the most expensive hero which is always the newest (all others are reduced after a while) takes about 3 weeks to obtain while only doing the daily quests and nothing else - no additional matches, no PVE campaign play. Everything beyond that would short the time, that is already only 1 week for the cheaper heroes. In addition, since we are not believers in the mobile trend of Pay2Win by adding stats to vanity that some of our competitors seem to be fond of, we don't "exert" any real buying pressure for competing successfully in the arena. The first 3 heroes are free, you can try any hero in the practice mode, and we had events every week where you can win skins, heroes, Insignia for high level runes. In addition to that, we will have sales events of course, and the starter kit gives another hero plus skin and more shop currency at 90% discount, for a fiver (exchange rates might put it a little higher or lower). So all of this considered, we hope to strike a chord not only with you and the rest of the community gameplay wise, but also as transparent and fair regarding the monetization. Happy to answer any questions you might have! PS: We're working on further heroes of course. 2 are almost finished in production and the 3rd is in concept phase. I played the closed beta and I have been looking forward to the release for a long time. PoH is a gorgeous premium quality game that is designed well and plays well. That being said, in the politest way possible I have to tell you your game is going to fail. I strongly encourage you to revisit your pricing. I completely understand keeping the skins price point where they are but no one is going to pay over $10 to unlock a hero or grind for 3 weeks to get it free. They will get bored and be done. You should also consider including premium currency with the subscription you are simply asking for too much investment for a mobile game. I fully support games I enjoy with money but as much as I have looked forward to PoH I can't encourage your pricing model by spending money and I also don't expect this game to be around in 6 months with this model. I wish you nothing but success I hope you consider the feedback. _ Fast Forward Member Aug 2, 2016 13 0 0 Collective Bear Wrestling Moscow, Russia https://moba.my.com #18 Fast Forward, Mar 10, 2017 Yes, just connect your devices to the same Game Center or Facebook Connect account. Right after the tutorial, you will be prompted to enter an account name. If you have skipped that by just hitting the accept button and you find yourself being an ordinary GuestXXXXX, you may contact our support team and request a name change. This was an end-of-closed beta event back in December/January so you could try out all heroes and find the one you like most and make those a priority to go for when we launched. After that event, on 10th January, the database was wiped as it is usual after a Closed Beta, and everyone started from scratch. Now you can try all heroes for free in Practice mode instead. Depending on where in England, I would reckon somewhere between 20 and 50ms, the connection to Amsterdam is very well in network infrastructure. But even for other parts of the world, 85%+ of connections are below 100ms due to the aforementioned geographically spread battle server system. That being said, if your mobile carrier experiences a lot of congestion, there's nothing we can do about it - so on holidays where everyone and his dog are phoning (e.g. New Year), I would suggest using the WiFi MintCity Well-Known Member Jun 24, 2016 200 1 18 #19 MintCity, Mar 10, 2017 Last edited: Mar 10, 2017 Thanks for your clarification! My only feedback with the game is: quests are almost your only legitimate form of earning currency. The amount of currency you get from playing a game is pitiful in my opinion. I'm sure this is trying to encourage players to buy the 3-6 month +50% currency package but the price point on almost everything in the game is surprisingly high (except for the skins, those are pretty fair). I understand you guys need to make profit and that people who do not pay need to grind but I feel it's a bit excessive compared to your competitors. I've played a lot of Vainglory (3 years) and Mobile Legends (1/2 a year) and I can grind out any character in about a week and a half through extremely casual play, regardless of how expensive they may be. Maybe I shouldn't compare PoH to other mobile MOBAS on these aspects but that's honestly what other players are doing. It's only natural. It's competition. These are just my thoughts and opinions. This game is polished and has a TON of potential. I don't want to see it go to waste just because of pricing and a minor problem with grinding! I'll continue to play and hope things turn out well!
