I have DLed it, due to a long (and slightly shameful) love of mechs. Thanks to a mid-90s PC series. And, somewhat shamefully, I'm rayt enjoying it at the mo. There are 7 tiers of pilots and mechs, and I'm only hitting tier 1 at the mo. Which is far from onerous (after 2-4hrs?!) and plenty of room left in the distributed resources. Can see the squeeze up ahead, and am semi aware that I'm being bedazzled by pretty shiny things to click on, but - at present - I'm hitting no resource limits (so long as I'm not a dick) or timers. It's pretty well thought out, tbh. Some online multiplayer, a decent enough career (so far), nice bit of rts (involving pausing and delegating tasks / special moves / etc). So. Yeah. I'm not a freemium type, but this is doing alright.
AND deleted. Nice core mechanics - genuinely - but I suddenly started hitting a difficulty ramp just as I began losing interest. And it looked like a whole stack of grinding to make progress - sudden, ridiculous level requirements in the campaign. Good for a while, mind!
