Houston, TX #2 slewis7, Feb 15, 2017 I was fortunate enough to receive an unsolicited promo code to PepeLine from this thread's poster. Thanks for that. I have played the first 30 or so levels of this game. It has simple controls and nice attractive graphics. The game play is pretty old school and is derivative of the classic Pipeline games (as clearly indicated by PepeLand's clever name). It is a nice enough version and at least in the early goings seems to be fairly easy in difficulty; perhaps intended for younger audiences. If it is targeted to adults, I would prefer a slightly ramped up difficulty, but this is still quite enjoyable and looks to have a ton of levels to pursue. The game has delivered one twist so far (fixed pipe blocks that can not be moved) and hopefully has further tricks up it sleeve. I will follow up as I progress. y2kmp3 Well-Known Member Jun 25, 2010 1,784 3 38 #3 y2kmp3, Feb 15, 2017 Good impression, slewis7 The graphics look very attractive. Interesting observation about the level of difficulty. Because the game is essentially a sliding tile puzzler, the difficulty can ramp out to extraordinary levels when the maps get larger. Even if the map is relatively small, the solution can be quite complex if the initial state of the tiles is markedly out of order. In fact, there are complex auto solvers in existent to solve the basic sliding tile puzzles, and the optimal solutions they yield can be so complex that they are nearly impossible to be conceived by human players de novo. It all depends on how complex the developer decides to make the initial state and if other mechanics aside from sliding are added to the mix. As a puzzle game, it is essential that other mechanics be added, otherwise the game can quickly turn into yet another tedious slider. TurboWheels Well-Known Member Jan 28, 2015 99 1 8 #4 TurboWheels, Feb 16, 2017 slewis7, y2kmp3 thank you for your comments, you both have interesting point there. The difficulty of the game is thought for average player, for advanced players at the beginning may seem very easy and even boring, but the game consists of many levels (more levels will be added constantly) and has all these unique features: * PILE OF EPIC LEVELS - 448 Levels * UNIQUE BOARDS - 4x4, 5x5, ZigZag, 3 in 1 and much more * MORE VARIATIONS - Challenge mode, star mode and against clock * 7 DIFFERENT FAIRYWORLDS - Garden, Jungle, Mountains, Lava, Desert, Forest, Boat * EXTRA TILES FOR MAJOR CHALLENGE - Rotable, Magic, 1 Step, etc. * IN-GAME FUNCTIONS: - RESTART: Restart a level quickly. - UNDO : Have a mistake? Were they generated by an algorithm and then hand curated? Also, how were the move counts in the game determined? Were they based on player performance during testing or algorithms checking for optimal solutions? Gamer1st Well-Known Member Mar 19, 2013 774 0 0 None. But I dream about being able to work again. USA #6 Gamer1st, Feb 16, 2017 Gorgeous game! Plenty to do with so.many levels that they never seem to run out. With great gameplay to boot. TurboWheels Well-Known Member Jan 28, 2015 99 1 8 #7 TurboWheels, Feb 16, 2017 All levels are hand made and as you say, the move counts based on player performance. Anyways, if you detect any error on move counts please let us know, mostly on complex levels. It has simple yet addictive gameplay, tons of levels (dunno how much, 26 Stages*16 levels=416, I suppose), cute graphics. So, the game is great! And if you say, that the game will have level updates, it's even cooler sharfaust Well-Known Member Jul 1, 2013 339 75 28 #9 sharfaust, Feb 16, 2017 Very cute art style, huge amount of levels, can get challenging at times too. Good job, developers! y2kmp3 Well-Known Member Jun 25, 2010 1,784 3 38 #10 y2kmp3, Feb 16, 2017 It is impressive that you are able to handcraft so many levels. Just curious, despite the fact that the move count limits were set based on past player performance, have you attempted to write an algorithm to check for optimal solutions and compared those results against player-derived solutions? TurboWheels Well-Known Member Jan 28, 2015 99 1 8 #11 TurboWheels, Feb 16, 2017 Actually we are working on a level builder, for the same reason we are developing an algorithm to calculate the minimum count of moves. kopicha Well-Known Member Feb 21, 2015 716 25 28 IT #12 kopicha, Feb 17, 2017 Pretty amazing that there are so many levels in the game. Never thought there can be so much combination possibilities. Game is cute looking. So sweet when you send both of them together. lol~ Pretty tricky at times thou. extra blocks being place to kinda mislead you. Not sure if those are really "extra" or actually can be used to complete the level. Always just tried to 3 star it with the minimum moves. Only the German localization has a few grammatical errors. But that is not really bad. TurboWheels Well-Known Member Jan 28, 2015 99 1 8 #16 TurboWheels, Feb 17, 2017 Thank you DTK. Anybody of the lovely players knows how? y2kmp3 Well-Known Member Jun 25, 2010 1,784 3 38 #19 y2kmp3, Feb 17, 2017 Just discovered that some levels are timed. Must say that I did not like this at all. To me, this is a common error to add such a gameplay mode to an inherently thinking game (puzzle game). Worst yet, the game forces the level to reset when time is expired, thus preventing the player from troubleshooting a solution to try to improve it and erasing any progress made so far. TurboWheels Well-Known Member Jan 28, 2015 99 1 8 #20 TurboWheels, Feb 18, 2017 Dear y2kmp3, that's called "Challenging your brain against the clock". To diversify the gameplay we have three types of game modes: challenge mode, star mode and against the clock. Actually we are working on two new modes: one is surprise and the other is build your level. What about other players? What do you think about it? (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
